Welcome to my Hometown tour of downtown Manteo, NC Travel Stop 1 My mom and I headed to downtown Manteo early, determined to finally make it to Mia’s Bake Shop & Tea Room for breakfast—and I actually made it this time. I sipped Earl Grey from a delicate china cup and saucer while we shared sweet-potato ham biscuits, all to the soft soundtrack of Bridgerton playing in the background. We chatted with the owner—my friend, Mrs. Necy—and it felt like the heart of Manteo was passing right through the door. A local popped in to pick up her son’s favorite biscuits, and tourists wandered through for their own holiday treats. The shop was rarely empty, which made my heart so full for this woman-owned Outer Banks gem. Later, after browsing around town, we dug into the two cakes we brought home: a gingersnap cake with orange buttercream and a pumpkin cake. Both were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend you make a point to stop for treats on your next trip to Manteo, North Carolina. Wow!!! This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! It’s about time Manteo has a bakery!! The staff is absolutely incredible, you won’t find better service or friendlier faces on the beach. The baker is one of Manteo High Schools most loved teachers of all time. The rest of the staff are the nicest people. They make coming in an amazing experience. The food is to die for. Do yourself a favor and go get a biscuit, cupcake, and a cobbler-or anything else for that matter, you can’t go wrong here! I plan on being here alot more soon!!

I can't say enough good about Mia's. The owner is such a great lady, you can see her personal touch in the shop, everywhere from the food, to furnishings, to her beautiful authentic tea sets and table settings. There's indoor seating as well as a couple of tables outside at the front of the store. PS The location that's on Google maps is wrong. The shop is located at 109, not 101.

I can't say enough good about Mia's. The owner is such a great lady, you can see her personal touch in the shop, everywhere from the food, to furnishings, to her beautiful authentic tea sets and table settings. There's indoor seating as well as a couple of tables outside at the front of the store. PS The location that's on Google maps is wrong. The shop is located at 109, not 101.

My husband and I came here for breakfast. He ordered an egg, cheese, and sausage biscuit, and a sweet potato biscuit with ham. I ordered a sweet potato biscuit with ham. The sweet potato biscuit was the best I've ever had. We had the chocolate chip poundcake which was heavenly. The service was warm and friendly. Everyone aims to please. The atmosphere is charming. If you are in Manteo, don't miss out on this delightful, inviting bake shop/tea room. On a recent trip to the area my daughter and granddaughter and I found this wonderful tea room. The atmosphere was extremely clean and appealing. We all had tea. I had an Earl Geay cheesecake with lavender that put you in a state of euphoria! There couldn't be a better cheesecake anywhere!! All the baked selections looked delicious. We were touched by the background story and all the tea cups and pots that were donated as decorations. This is a MUST visit place if you are in the area.
