Tuque's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Marlinton

We stayed at the Corduroy Inn next door to Tuques, on purpose, so we could walk next door for dinner. The website showed they were open till 9:00 pm. We showed up an hour before closing, there were customers at the bar, but the waitress informed us the kitchen had closed early that night, so they could set up for breakfast the next day. The first time they’d be doing breakfast. We were very disappointed since this mean we were now going to have to walk to the village to find something open. We did, no biggie. We were actually kind of excited to go to Tuques for breakfast the next morning. But apparently that was inaccurate, Tuques did not open till 5:00pm the next day. No dice on breakfast. I would have gone one star on this review, but I have eaten there before, and I happen to know the Poutine is excellent. Wish I could have had some this time. Hey Tuques, I will be less likely to attempt to eat there next time since I’m not confident you’ll even be open the hours...

We met friends there for dinner. While the food was good, the menu was limited, food is overpriced, & the service was terrible. Despite high prices, they served our drinks in plastic cups & gave us plastic ware for eating utensils. Our waiter started out good but quickly tanked after delivering our food. He didn’t return to check up on us though he was at another table flirting w/ ladies for well over 5 minutes; then when I got up to ask for the bill since he wasn’t coming to our table he had a terrible attitude, then brought his checkout device to our table w/ only the screen to take payment, but w/out showing our bill or the amount. We had to call him back to the table to help us w/ his checkout device & he “suddenly” realized he pulled up the wrong bill (which was more than our bill). We finally checked out but it was a horrible experience & it seemed he was trying to get us to pay more than what our bill actually was. Needless to say, we won’t be...

Awful experience with sour aftertaste. Me and my partner came in for lunch, we were told to seat wherever, so we chose a nice table with the view. The place was empty. Maybe 2 families. After a while server came to us with menus under his armpit and asked me to take them cause he was caring drinks to another table. When he came back he said “you have to move to a different table” no please, no could you, no nice attitude, like we owe him something. The reason was “it’s lunch time and IF and MAYBE we’d have more people we can seat 4 here. Again, the place was empty, so we said we would like to stay at that table. After a long wait for someone to take our order we left. Name of the server was Brandon. If the management sees this review, you will keep loosing revenue. If other servers-tips.
