I’ve visited Honeygrow in Maryland and it has become my go-to spot for quick, healthy, and satisfying vegetarian meals. The concept of customizing your own stir-fry or salad is fantastic, allowing for endless combinations to suit any dietary preference.
Vegan Sesame Garlic Stir-Fry: This dish features freshly made whole wheat noodles, roasted tofu, mushrooms, broccoli, scallions, toasted sesame seeds, and their signature sesame garlic sauce. The tofu is cooked to perfection, and the sauce adds a delightful flavor without being overpowering.
Red Coconut Curry: A flavorful mix of rice noodles, roasted tofu, pineapples, jalapeños, carrots, scallions, cilantro, and a creamy red coconut curry sauce. It's a perfect blend of sweet and spicy.
Create Your Own Stir-Fry or Salad: The customization options are extensive. You can choose from various bases like whole wheat noodles or brown rice, add proteins like tofu, a wide range of fresh vegetables, and sauces to match your taste. The ordering process is streamlined with user-friendly kiosks, and the staff is always helpful and efficient. The ambiance is clean and modern, making it a pleasant place to dine in. For those with a sweet tooth, the Honeybar offers customizable dessert options with fresh fruits and toppings, which can be made vegan-friendly by choosing maple syrup instead of honey.
Overall, Honeygrow stands out for its commitment to fresh ingredients, customizable meals, and accommodating various dietary needs, especially for vegetarians and vegans. It's a place where healthy eating meets...
Read moreThe food is okay and average but overpriced for the amount of meat and veggies you get. The portion sizes are not large. It is very simple noodle dishes that anyone can make by throwing some ingredients together. The sauces themselves aren't special, I got the garlic butter, and also tried the pesto sauce. The egg noodles were tasty, but they were chewy, and the veggies were pretty raw so it's not really "stir fried", more like quickly mixed and heated up to be hot.
The location itself is pretty small inside... Lots of table spaces to sit, but the kiosks to order at backed into the seating area so there was no clear way to form a line. There are multiple kiosks to order from, but ordering can actually take some time as you have to look through and custom your order in the menu. When we ordered, our POS app actually ended up crashing and restarting so we had to wait for it to come back online. They text you when your food is ready for pickup though so that's nice. It's super loud inside due to the music and the kitchen and there's no padding to muffle the sound so it's annoying to sit inside and talk to someone else, combined with the lack of space.
It was nice to try but not worth the price you pay. Head to your local Chinese restaurant instead if you're looking...
Read moreThis restaurant is great for those who have diet restrictions OR those who hate talking to someone when ordering. When you walk in, you order on large screens right next to the cooks. I enjoyed that I could actually browse the menu without holding up a line. The had options for almost every diet imaginable - keto, vegetarian, gluten free. Ended up getting the Sesame Garlic bowl and created my own stir fry with the red curry sauce. Once your order is ready they just shoot you a text which is very convenient.
Onto the the food- did the red curry sauce with the create your own stir fry and it was pretty decent. Not spicy and a very light taste. However the chicken was a bit bland. The second bowl was their curated Sesame Ginger bowl. It was AMAZING and tasted so fresh. I'm a meat-a-tarian and felt like the amount of meat in the bowl was good. Will definitely be back.
Tip: Get the extra sauce. Pay the .59 for the extra sauce (IT'S .59 SHUT UP). ESPECIALLY if you are getting it to go. Turn that bad boy upside down, shake it, and then eat it. The noodles soak up a lot of that yummy sauce. If you don't get the extra sauce and do this ritual your noodles will be dry. And it's your fault because I told...
