Terrible experience. On Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:30 p.m, My sister scheduled and reserved 40 seats for our mom's 90th birthday party a week in advance with one of the managers. When we got there, the white manager refused to help but continued to try to get us to leave. The entire time we were there, they were kicking our party off tables, crunching them in a 30 seat area with 40 people. Some had to stand and eat all the while the White manager was reserving seats, i think 50, for the Vets. I get it but why did the White manager reserve seats for the white vets and basically was determined to push us out of the area. Our party was predominantly dark skin. When we arrived and tried to find our area, the white manager told us they DON'T reserve tables on weekends. Our family had come early just in case and thank goodness they did. The White Manager then proceeded to make our guests move farther over where there was hardly any room or seats because they had a reservation for the vets. He said they come every weekend but told us we couldn't have reservations. He consistently pushed us out of the area and made it very crowded. Only 3 people could sit with our mom because they took our table of 8 or 10 and made us get up and move for the vets that wouldn't be there for 2 hours or more. This is definitely a case of discrimination and utter disregard for people of color. We were quiet, respectful, kind and we even helped our hostess clean up our tables. Discrimination hurts. I don't think we will ever go to this Golden Corral again. We don't want to be discriminated against for our color. The steak was tough and some food was cold and dry. Think twice before going here if your a person of color and have a few people you want to dine with. They did not seem to even care when I told the white manager we felt discriminated against, he looked at me, moved 4 more of our guest out of the table WHILE EATING so they could give the seats to the reservation that they said can't be made. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Definitely a horrible experience and their food is over priced for the semi-poor cold food, tough steak they serve. How do they plan on fixing this problem so discrimination doesn't happen to another family of color. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! Main OFFICE needs to get this message and contact me to resolve this issue as it is definitely a discrimination issue that would hold up in court. We have plenty of pictures to prove this as well. This is 100% true. Check out the date. October 1, 2022 at 245 p.m. Discrimination is alive and well at this...
Read moreI’ve been here twice, with my elderly Mom. If you want to make your elderly parent or friend happy, bring them here. The staff here have all been VERY nice both times I’ve gone. The cashier called the manager to find a seat close to the buffets for my Mom, who walks with a cane. The food is good. Everything I put on my plate tasted good. They have a nice salad bar, which IMO was worth the plate price alone. They have multiple types of green, leafy vegetables, and plenty of vege and other choices to go on top. The only thing I would fix is the salad dressings weren’t labeled. The food is American, including ham, beef, chicken, and I think I saw pork chops but can’t be sure. They had a taco bar too, and plenty of side dishes to choose from. I went with the Thanksgiving foods, which are great comfort foods. The dessert bar is awesome! I love lemon meringue pie! They also have cobbler and soft serve ice cream. The only thing I would change is I would use a better soft serve recipe; this was more like ice milk than ice cream. They could go a long way upgrading their soft serve🍦
It’s a little crowded here probably because the food is good, etc. I saw several people here who looked like they came straight from working out and I thought that was a good idea. Lots of families here. If you want peace and quiet, this definitely isn’t the place to go but if you want a full belly and to get your money’s worth, Golden Corral at Arundel Mills is worth the trip.
I’d just like to add a couple requests if you do go: Please leave a tip for your bussing staff and please don’t leave a lot of...
Read moreGolden Corral Restaurants are basically consistent in their food and environmental layouts nationally. What makes this Golden Corral, located in Waldorf, Maryland off of Crain Highway different from the rest is the amazing, down-to-earth, multicultural positive interactions amongst it's patrons, service team, AND the consistent quality of the food presented.
Chefs are on duty, cooking and refreshing all the hot dishes and pleasantly joking with the guests. On the garden side, the Sous Chefs are constantly preparing and refreshing the salad bowls.
And oh my those fresh baked dinner rolls and "Aunt B's" fried chicken is to live for yummy!
The manager visibly takes pride in his seasonally decorated, clean environment. He blends in well with his team and the guests with his casual conversations and charismatic, problem solving leadership style.
If you are looking for a down-to-earth-come-as-you-are type of place, then this is the place for you. It's where the people that shop at Walmart go ... and a few other types too.
I say, "Let's go eat at Aunt B's tonight!" Yes, it's definitely that comfortable, hustle and busel type of place during lunch and dinner! Best quiet time is between 2:15 pm and 4 pm.
Remember to wear the gloves at the buffet serving stations that they provide (required); face masks in the buffet self-serve area are recommended (but...
