So I had just arrived in Maui and was hungry I did a little research on the food trucks and stumbled on a food truck station about 10 min from the resort. There were several trucks to choose from but some of the prices were a bit much. A variety of food to choose from Jamaican, barbecue, Asian fusion, and Vidadâs the only truck that was wisely priced. It was the only truck serving Hawaiian food fresh caught fish of the day. Well at least that was my perception. I got the Kula fish with rice and a tomato, onion and red cabbage salad with a homemade vinaigrette. She had fresh starfruit for sale so I purchased the 3 she had left, I also got the fresh made starfruit and ginger lemonade. She makes it fresh while you wait for your food. Delicious and refreshing. There is a seating area at the truck park with umbrellas and plenty of chickens and roosters that roam free. Just a heads up, youâll see plenty đ. My rating on the taste and eye appeal of the food I give it a 7.8 out of 10. The fish was fresh and crispy I didnât mind the bones as Iâm used to eating fish with bones. I was hungry, and I didnât think of the pictures until after I had already crushed a whole piece and was working on the second. Sometimes that hunger just takes over and that one track mind kicks...
Read moreOrdered food online through the app they participate in (through yelp). Specifically, we were looking for traditional lumpia. Paid and got the text that the food was being prepared. Drove the 20 minutes to pick up the food. Got the text that the food was ready. Turns out, they didnât even have all of the menu items we ordered and tried to sub them out for other things (like banana lumpia for regular pork & veggie lumpia which are not even remotely the same thing). They also wouldnât honor the upgrade options we paid for that were listed online (like a fried egg on the rice bowl or the poke bowl with a combo of rice and mixed veggies). If you canât actually make those things, donât list them as options online. The physical food truck menu showed that they were out of 5 different items. We cancelled the order and asked for a refund. The owner was not happy as he had âalready cooked the chickenâ for the order. My phone number was a part of what I had to submit for the online order. They could have called to let us know they were out of so much of our order and made sure we actually wanted it. No idea if the food is good or not, but I recommend going to this truck in person if you want to eat here to make sure they actually have what youâre...
Read moreI donât know how and where to begin. Letâs start with the main dishes. The Adobo Fried Rice and the Adobo with rice bowl. Theyâre a bit under seasoned. Meaning that there wasnât enough salt and pepper to bring out the flavor of the dish. The desserts, Halo-Halo. Very lazy ingredients put together. A bit too pricey for the quantity. $5 for a small cup.
I wanna get into the customer service. The people werenât really friendly. They didnât repeat the order that was taken which is a necessary part of being a cashier to re-assure the customer that they have the right order. Speaking out of experience because I ordered two Adobo Fried Riceâ and instead they gave me their god awful Adobo with Rice Bowl. The cooks and the cashiers donât wear hairnets or any headwear to hold back their hair. I donât even see gloves being worn. This is a public foodtruck by the way.
Thereâs a reason why the restaurant in Kahului closed down. The cleanliness of the kitchen wasnât up to par. Along with the Food Truck.
Highly Disappointed, and would never come back again. And I highly suggest new people to just get food...
