Zoup! Eatery — Restaurant in Maumee

The only good thing was the overstuffed bell pepper soup, it was tasty but not hot.. was warm at best, my Cali chicken sandwich was thrown in the grill for mere seconds and was cold still.. am gonna just have to take it home to heat it so it's edible..(thank God this was dinner and I can go home and not lunch where I would have had to just throw it away!) I placed an online order that was suppose to be ready in 4 minutes, I was 13 minutes away and it wasn't ready when I got there. They started making my order once I arrived.. I could have just ordered it there.. they clearly don't understand how online ordering works. The zoup on sylvania ave can get it done within the alloted time, and makes sure the food is hot and cooked to a proper temp so it's definitely an issue with this location... there were no costumers so they were just sitting and standing around when I arrived, me and a gentleman went in at the same time and he was ahead of me so I had to also wait for him and his order before my online order was acknowledged and made.. he had bad vibes, the whole place had bad vibes.. I did not like the service nor the atmosphere. This was an absolutely horrendous expierence. Would not recommend this location. They also forgot to give me butter for my French bread and even though two people looked at my order multiple times I still had to ask for my black cherry soda.. It is so very disappointing watching Zoup Maumee go down the drain. Ever since under new ownership, the quality has gone downhill :( They are out of most soups and even close before the scheduled time. I looked online tonight and saw they closed at 8pm. I went to the store and arrived at 7:30pm. The doors were unlocked and when I went in a family was sitting in a booth eating. But all the soups were put away and no one was behind the counter. Then someone comes out and tells me they are closed. I told them the website says 8, why did they close early and the girl just points at the owner. He walks over and says, can I help you? I asked if they were closed or taking orders? He said closed so I asked why the hours say 8 online and on the door? His answer was, well it's 7:30 so............ and just stared at me. So I walked out. It was frustrating because we were at sports all night and just needed to grab dinner. I would not have driven there had I known they were closed. Every restaurant and fast food chain has gone down the drain since Covid and it's sad to watch. No one treats customers respectfully and no one wants to work. Just sad! The crab and lobster bisques are phenomenal. And I love the broth and mushrooms in the dragon fire soup. Very well done.

"Large variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches" - from Thomes1993 in Columbia City, Indiana - Went for the Chicken Pot Pie soup. While it hit the spot on a cool day, it could have been a little warmer. It had decent flavor, it still needed something added to put it in the "great" category. The staff was friendly even while being inundated with the lunch crowd. While waiting to order they also offer you free samples of the different soups to help you decide.
