Eggs Up Grill – McDonough Date Visited: 5/05/2025 Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
McDonough just got eggs-tra exciting y’all! As someone who’s lived here for over 30 years, I practically did a happy dance when I saw a new breakfast spot pop up that wasn’t another IHOP. You already know I had to check out Eggs Up Grill—and I’m so glad I did!
Service: From the moment we walked in, the vibes were warm and welcoming! No wait at all, and the staff was beyond sweet. Everyone checked in on us with the kind of Southern charm that makes you feel right at home. Five-star friendliness all around!
Ambiance: The aesthetic? ADORABLE. Clean, cozy, and totally Instagram-worthy. They even have a cute little bar area for solo diners or coffee sippers. Plus, there’s an outdoor patio I cannot wait to enjoy this summer. Brunch al fresco? Yes please!
Food: I went healthy with the egg white omelet (post-gym life!), and it hit the spot—so fresh and flavorful. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles… he loved the waffle, but the tenders could’ve used a lil’ more magic. The dipping sauce definitely helped save the dish, though!
Pricing: Affordable AF! Everything on the menu is budget-friendly without skimping on flavor or portions. I love a place where you can enjoy a yummy breakfast without draining your wallet.
Parking: Bless them for the huge FREE parking lot! No circling, no parallel parking stress—just pull up and go eat. This girl appreciates the ease!
Final Thoughts: Eggs Up Grill has officially made it to my must-return list. With great service, tasty food, and the cutest atmosphere, I’ll definitely be back for another round of brunchy...

Today, my husband and I visited Eggs Up Grill on Jonesboro Road for a late lunch. Before heading over, I called to ask if there was a wait. The hostess assured me there wasn’t, which we appreciated. We arrived around 1:30 PM, were seated right away, and placed our order shortly after. Our server was friendly and brought our drinks within five minutes—so far, so good.
However, things went downhill from there. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Despite being told every 10 minutes or so that our order was still being prepared, tables that arrived well after us received their meals first. For context, we ordered fairly simple dishes: the Classic with two pancakes and the Slices, Strips, and Spuds.
By the time we received yet another vague update with no food in sight, we spoke with the manager. Unfortunately, the explanation was minimal—just that the kitchen was backed up due to Easter and the staff was struggling to keep up. While we understand that holidays can be busy, the restaurant was far from full, and there was no wait to be seated, which made the delay even more confusing.
What was most disappointing was the lack of accountability or gesture of goodwill. No apology beyond the brief explanation, no offer to compensate or make up for the long wait.
We had high hopes, especially after hearing good things about Eggs Up Grill, but unfortunately, our experience today was frustrating and...
Read moreI hate to write this because this is my fav brunch spot but after today I don't think I will be dining in again.
Today my mother and I go to brunch (its a Sunday so I already knew it was going to be packed) When we get in we are told to wait so the hostess can buss the tables. After cleaning the tables she sits 2 parties down that came in after us. No big deal, we are finally sat down and the table was messy but thats alright she wiped down the table for us, but she didn't bring us menus after like 15 mins. Again, no big deal I get up to get our menus.
Ready to order my mother and I are waiting for a server, there are 2 male severs helping people but we waited over 30 mins before one of them comes over and asks "have yall been helped" my mother was annoyed 15 mins ago but I still decided to give grace as it was packed.
We finally get our orders in after 40+ mins of waiting. We get our sweet teas and they were very bitter. I tried to grab my server's attention but he wasn't looking and he hasn't checked on us.
We wait another 30 mins on the food and when we receive the food and it's cold. At this point both my mom and I are fuming we get our food to go and head out immediately. My mom had grits with a cold piece of cheese on top thinking it was gonna melt. I was beyond irritated by the food and service. Food is decent, but get to go and just...
