I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was so shocking that I feel obligated to speak up. I stopped by Five Guys yesterday, expecting a good meal and decent service. What I got instead was one of the most uncomfortable and disrespectful customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
An employee (who appeared to be pregnant) was not just rude, but outright hostile. From the moment I asked a basic question about my order, she rolled her eyes, cut me off mid-sentence, and acted like I was an inconvenience just for speaking. I remained calm and polite, trying to brush it off, but the attitude kept escalating. She made a snide comment under her breath that I clearly wasn’t supposed to hear and then stormed off, leaving another employee visibly uncomfortable on my behalf.
I understand that everyone has hard days, and I respect that pregnancy can be physically and emotionally exhausting, but nothing justifies treating a paying customer like a problem to be tolerated. There’s a line between having a rough shift and being completely unprofessional, and she crossed that line multiple times.
This is a place where people come to relax and enjoy their food, not to be disrespected and talked down to by someone who clearly has no business being in a customer-facing role. If this is the level of behavior Five Guys is willing to accept from its employees, then it reflects very poorly on management. I am writing to make a complaint about the staffing at this location. I went to this location on 08/02/2024 at 7:57 and used cash to pay for my order. When my total rang up, the girl who was running the register, a black woman with braids in her hair and long false lashes, said “I don’t have pennies so I only gave you this amount.” The amount was short of what was owed to me.
I understand we are in the era of digital money but to short a customer and have a do not care attitude is sickening. Thankfully a manager came and rectified this situation by giving me the correct change. If it was the girls money being shorted, she would have raised hell, but since it was someone she didn’t know, this behavior was acceptable. Read moreMy online experience was great. I understood that I had to wait a few minutes for my fries upon arrival. I just wished the latino lady hadn't overly seasoned my fries just because she was in a hurry to cater to someone else. I also feel like it was unacceptable to wait 16 minutes for fries! I understand that she wanted to give me my money worth of fries but many of them fell onto the table and i feel like it was unsanitary of her to pick them up and toss them into my bag. On top of that, the establishment was not busy at all.I was the only one waiting on my food until a couple came in 5 minutes after me. Their food got done at the same time my fries were done, & they order at the store! After handing me my order, I wanted to ask her for an extra bag to separate my food items & some condiments that were left off of my burger & she ignored me for over 6-7 minutes before she chose to get to me.
