I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding a recent experience at this Smoothie King location. As a Regional Manager, I understand the importance of customer service, professionalism, and going above and beyond to build lasting relationships. Unfortunately, this visit completely missed the mark.
Today, I picked up three smoothies for my leadership team at one of my locations—two of which were Angel Food and one was The Hulk. I’m a frequent customer at this location and often choose to drive slightly further to support this store, despite a brand-new Tropical Smoothie having opened right across the street from one of my locations. I’ve always felt a sense of loyalty to this location—until today.
Upon leaving, one of the smoothies tipped in the drink holder. The lid had not been properly sealed and easily popped off, spilling the entire drink in my passenger seat. Disappointed, I called the store to explain what happened, noting that it occurred in the parking lot and that I’ve experienced a similar issue at another smoothie king franchise, where the team was incredibly understanding and remade the smoothie at no charge.
However, the manager on duty—a short Hispanic woman in a red Smoothie King bandanna—was extremely cold and dismissive. I explained that I’m a regular customer and hoped for a bit of understanding and goodwill. Instead, she told me flatly that they are never allowed to remake a smoothie, regardless of the situation. There was no empathy, no effort to make things right—just a rigid, transactional response.
What made this even more frustrating was the unprofessional behavior I witnessed in-store. While I remained composed, paid for and waited for my replacement, I noticed staff whispering and laughing amongst themselves about the situation, which was entirely inappropriate and unprofessional.
This experience reflects a disappointing lack of leadership, customer care, and brand representation. It’s unfortunate that store-level management is not empowered—or chooses not—to act in good faith for loyal customers. I will no longer be returning to this location and will instead take my business to the new Tropical Smoothie that’s a little closer, where they are working to connect with the community and give great service.
This Smoothie King lost a loyal customer today—not over the cost of one smoothie, but because of poor service, lack of empathy, and a complete absence of the “make it right” mentality that should define any...
Read moreI am very disappointed in the Smoothie King in Mcdonough on HWY 20. I went there a few days ago with my husband after a intense work. As we were standing in line I noticed a "slim jim" priced at $1.19. I grabbed it and went ahead ordered our smoothies and paid for our products, as I was moving down the line I noticed on the receipt the "slim jim" was priced at $2.19 so I went back to the shelf thinking I miss read the price, nope all of the boxes were marked $1.19 so I took the box to the counter and spoke with the cashier about it, she was extremely rude, with a attitude she stated " Oh,it was priced wrong, I can refund it for you", with me being a customer service district manager that definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I told her that I actually really still want the item and ask if she would honor the price that it's marked as, she snatched the product out of my hand and told me no, as she was walking away she was on the phone calling someone. She went to the back and came back out and told me all she could do is refund me. At this point I was confused, we are talking about $1 difference. So I came to the conclusion that if you can not adjust the price I just won't purchase from here. I agreed to a refund but for my total purchase, she then told me that she can't. She called someone again and did my refund. I have yet to receive the refund in my account. Very rude staff. They lost me as a customer over $1.. It's not the price or amount it's...
Read moreI have had three smoothies from this place in the last two days and they were all delicious. I don't drink smoothies very often because I don't really eat fruit or veggies (I have a sweet tooth). But I was surprised to discover that there were many options outside of fruit and veggie drinks. The one I chose was the chocolate hulk in the medium size which is pretty much a chocolate covered banana protein shake. It was so good that I had to go back again the next day and get the large of the same flavor. A lot of their drinks are designed to replace meals but I was able to drink a large smoothie and a plate of Chinese takeout just fine so take that as you will. The service was definitely not bad but it also wasn't the 5-star tier service that I experience at many other places. With a few more smile and louder greetings coming through the door, I'm sure the place would be a solid food stars but it's a great option to get a delicious...
