Conveniently located at Hwy 75 SB service road & 380, SW corner, but not planning to return again after our latest visit while passing thru town over the weekend. Food was ok but not as good this visit, maybe because it was late? Meatballs were burned, alfredo sauce tasted overcooked, and the entrees left a strange aftertaste plus some extended stomach discomfort with all of us into the night. Tables were being picked up throughout by the staff during our meal. Salad bar was in some disarray with food scattered and mixed about across containers (post dinner rush?). Restrooms were dirty, especially floors and a fully clogged toilet, paper towel dispenser was nonfunctional, trash can overflowing, and had to struggle with the auto-faucet to get water. The ice cream and utensil area was dirty and many of the small cups still had food remnants in them or oil from salad dressings clinging to the sides of a few more, and most were wet or had other residues from previous use. Was a struggle to find one remotely clean looking while trying all on the counter. All the silverware tried to pick up were also wet coming out of the the bins and looked dirty / film-coated. Was also treated to watching two roaches running across the dining floor area, a large one by the salad bar / ice cream machine that went under the kitchen swinging door, and a smaller one that came to visit us by our table (tried to take a picture of it while could reach the phone - Google selected not to show that picture in review). Have eaten here several times in the past, and seen varying degrees of issues like this before, but not quite like this visit. (Not sure if a functional dishwasher is even being used here?) Adding free roaming roaches in the dining room this trip made our decision easy not to come back again though. Do like Jason's Deli and their food selection, but no longer at this location in McKinney,...
Read moreMy wife and I came here last night Saturday 5/3/2025. We were having a rough day and couldn't think of what we wanted to eat. We put our cat of 15 years down at 1am that morning at the Allen ER Vet and hadn't eaten all day due to sadness. We ended up at Jason's Deli in McKinney, can never go wrong with a good sandwich!
We got there close to 9pm and were greeted by the cashier and apologies I did not get his name, but looked like a possible manager or assistant manager, could be wrong. But he took our order and asked how are day was. I said ok and my wife explained to him how we hadn't eaten all day and had to put our cat down this morning. He said he was sorry to hear about our loss. A short interaction but left us feeling good, we do not know many people in the DFW area. So for someone to give us a kind word meant a lot.
We received our food quickly, then a guy from the line came over I believe his name was Ryan, he came up smiling and handed my wife 2 cookies. Stating these our on the house and hope you have a good night. I assume the cashier that took our order told him about our day.
This maybe a small gesture to some, but to my wife and I it went a LONG way. For 2 strangers to show empathy just turned our night around. Instead of continuing to grieve we drove home with a smile talking about how nice that was. To those 2 young men, continue to stay true to who you are because who you our is a good empathetic human being.
Side note: Food was great as always, very clean, salad bar was tidy, drink area was spotless, and the ice cream is always my favorite part. We will continue to go back and enjoy our meals here. ...
Read moreWent to this location tonight for dinner with my husband and young son. We had never been to this location before and it was my husband’s first time at a Jason’s deli period. The cashier that took my order was an older, short lady. The name on the receipt said Lance, but I doubt that was her name. She said a snide comment in reference to the other cashier helping me before. I mentioned that I hadn’t been helped and that I had been looking at the menu several times and that the other cashier was helping other customers. Then she mumbled and I asked her to repeat herself and she asked what I wanted. While placing my order, she continued to mumble. I had to ask her to repeat herself several times and even leaned in to hear her. I had ordered a baked potato without sour cream but asked for extra butter. I was charged $0.49, which I wouldn’t have ordered if I was told that would be extra. My family and I then sat down at an open booth and the table was sticky. When the food was delivered, my husband wasn’t given silverware, and my Irish potato soup was luke warm. I didn’t ask for a manager because I didn’t want a refund or anything like that. We just won’t be back. Both my husband and I are experiencing stomach issues within two hours of eating here. This has been my only meal since 7pm yesterday. After reading some of the other google reviews, we probably just got food that was handled by people that don’t change their gloves between tasks. Not to mention my soup was definitely not above 140 degrees. No telling how long it had been held in the...
