The Moon River Cafe is a neat little eclectic cafe and coffee shop. It is artsy and quirky and the atmosphere is great for a chat with friends or working on your laptop. They offer workshops, author meet ups, and sell local products. The food and drink however, are pretty sub-par. I order a cappuccino and it was honestly one of the worst I've ever had. The milk was burnt and way to hot, little to no foam, and the coffee itself didn't taste good either. The barista on staff was clearly not trained on how to make espresso or milk properly. The baked good were from places like Publix and Costco, which was disappointing since it seems like the perfect spot for a local baker. They work on the display of pastries, so that it looks fun and matches the style of the rest of the place. Great potential, but still needs some work to keep up with the other cafes in the areas in the long run

This could be an awesome place or it already is depending on why you go. It has a wonderful relaxing atmomosphere. It's quiet and a great place for a pleasant sedate conversation with friends. Don't go for the food and don't expect a pot of tea even though they have a big list of teas. Our food (sandwiches) was very disappointing, tasteless and bland. The Madeline shaped cake didn't taste at all like a Madeline and had chocolate in it (surprise!). I ordered a coffee and an Earl Grey tea. The type of tea seemed to confuse the servers and what I ended up with tasted like ordinary breakfast tea. The servers are very nice if somewhat befuddled. If the food improves and they expand the menu some, this could be a favorite place. Whoever decorated did a great job.

We ordered caramel latte, American coffee, and a lemon pound cake. The coffee was warm not hot at all. Add the lemon pound cake was store-bought probably from Publix and just served on a plate as a slice. The ambience of the place is fantastic, the cashier that took our order was super nice. Everything else was just mediocre. The place has a nice selection of gift type items. But the food, preparation and general tone of the service there's just something missing. This could be because the place is new and they just haven't gotten it together yet. For a slice of Publix lemon pound cake I'm very disappointed.

Great little coffee place downtown Melb. My family and I are big breakfast people, we love to chat at breakfast and we enjoy going to a new place and chat about the food, what we like , what was great and what was not so good. 10 in the morning and we got there with our bellies hungry but we were also excited to try something new. Seating was available in abondance and the somewhat dark front room was a bit unusual but at the same time warm and inviting. We took a menu, sat at a table and looked over at the breakfast possibilities - I really thought we were going for big breakfast. Yes the breakfast menu included about 5 items, there is bagels, waffles, a breakfast sandwich and avocado toast, there might have been one or two more items. I ordered coffee and breakfast sandwich. Let me start with the coffee - damn it was on point, strong and good actually great. Large cane in a big rim mug that held about 6 oz, yes that's a large. My breakfast sandwich was bagel with egg and sausage. I was totally disappointed, the sausage, seemed like it was microwaved, the edge was rock hard after 5 minutes which made it seem more comparable to a frozen sandwich that was microwaved, that was a total letdown for me. We also ordered a espresso with ice cream which I though was really good, coming back to the point the the coffee was really good. The waffle was 10 of 10, soft on the inside and crisp on the outside we enjoyed every bit of crumbs - given it was the size of your palm, the toppings were perfect. Finally the avocado toast - good amount of avocado on a crisp toast, looks good but tasted a bit bland, it needed something to give it a kick almost boring. Will I go back. Absolutely for coffee and waffles. I did not try the whole menu so I cannot comment on anything else, I like the decoration and the cozy feeling. Good place for coffee and chat or read a book. My wife said she love...

If you’re looking for a coffee experience that’s as unique as it is delicious, this eclectic coffee shop is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with an atmosphere that feels both vibrant and cozy—mismatched chairs, vintage art, and quirky décor that makes every corner worth exploring. It’s like stepping into a friend’s living room, if your friend happened to be a world traveler with incredible taste in coffee. The menu is just as creative as the space itself. They have the classics down perfectly—smooth, rich lattes, bold espresso shots, and velvety cappuccinos. The pastries are equally impressive, clearly made with care, and the gluten free options are just as indulgent as the rest. The staff here are absolute gems—welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft. You’re never just handed a drink; you’re handed a little piece of art. Whether you’re here to work, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a slow morning with a book, this spot nails it. Highly recommend making this your go-to...

5/5 stars. A hidden gem with heart

Moon River Café & Curiosities is truly one of a kind. I came in to get a little work done and ended up having one of the most peaceful, welcoming café experiences I’ve ever had. The space itself is stunning, filled with local art and cozy creative energy. It’s the kind of place that feeds both your body and your soul.

I ordered the Bella Capri sandwich and a blackberry lavender Italian soda. Everything was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. You can tell the food is made with love.

What made this visit truly unforgettable was my server Ilianna. She went above and beyond with her kindness, attention to detail, and amazing recommendations. I felt genuinely cared for, not just served. The rest of the staff and the owner Kate were also warm and passionate about what they do and it shows.

Highly recommend this café if you’re looking for delicious food, a serene setting, and truly outstanding service. Can’t wait to...
