𝐂𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐌𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐁𝐀𝐑 & 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐌𝐀𝐂𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐃 — Restaurant in Memphis

Ordered 2 x $4 sodas, $4 cheese dip, $13 combo, $5 quesadilla = $30 / Like a FOOL I handed her my credit card when she brought the check...without looking. Then like an EMBECILE I added $10 to the $46 total and signed...FOR FIFTY SIX DOLLARS. I called 20 minutes later to learn they automatically add 15% gratuity to the check (2 diners at a Mexican restaurant on Macon in Memphis!?!?) They failed to explain the other $10.

No good deed goes unpunished, they say.

The shame is the food was quite good. I told them I won't be back for their good food however because I can't trust them (if they toy with the check, what do they do in the kitchen?)

I was reminded of the necessity of reviewing the check before paying it, after 45 years of dining out. MY BAD, but they facilitated

As I am sitting here I regret coming! Service from our waitress,Taila was horrible! Asking questions about drinks and menu item she had a smart reply. I ordered a frozen strawberry cognac margarita and it was not frozen. We were rushed to have our orders taken so I ordered the ribeye steak medium well potato and house salad. It came steak was well done tasted sour. I asked for another potato cause it had sour cream on it and I didn’t want it, only to come back and say I was charged for the new one. Not a problem, however her service could have been much better and she should have stated I would be charged for the new potato since I failed to say no sour cream! I will never come in here ever again and would tell people...

Site of a failed Mexican restaurant before it, but the place has been renovated, all new staff and the food is excellent. Carnitas was outstanding, tacos Cocina was great though a little greasy, in the best possible authentic Mexican sort of way. Super nachos very good and enormous. Portions are huge, even in these times when all restaurants are trying to shave food costs.

None of the food is picante unless the menu specifically says so, and the bottled sauces on the table are that bitter habañero salsa, so if you want to fire it up ask for a little bowl of their salsa diablo which is very good. And it does not play. : )

The last place lost their liquor license but...
