On 1/19/25, I went there for lunch because "most" of the reviews were good, but it was an epic fail and a story worthy of a rocambolesque movie. First, I went in and asked for a table for 1, and the waitress dismissively told me to seat myself on any of the open tables outside. I thought that was a bit weird, but I went and sat myself down. Later, she came with a menu and took my drink order. She was very short, but I ordered a latte and she left. She never came back to check on me, but I noticed that she was checking on other tables often. Later, another server, allegedly Bryan, came & took my order for lunch & dessert. While I was waiting for my food, a lady sat on a table next to me, and the same waitress came out, brought her some water and poured her a glass of water and I noticed how nice she was to that customer. Bryan later brought my food, but still no water or anything. When the waitress came back to check on the lady next to me, I asked her if I could get some water too. A while later, she came with the water, put it in on my table and left, did not pour me a glass like she did for the other customers. I sat there for a while longer, and never got my dessert. So, Bryan came back and checked on me again and said he'd check on my crêpe suzette. A few minutes later, he brought my dessert up and as he was trying to flambée the crêpe suzette, he spilled the sauce he had just lit up in flames on my leg/foot and on the floor, along with the fruits that were on the plate. But, he proceeded in putting the dirty dripping slimmy destroyed dessert in front of me while I was struggling to clean and soothe my burnt leg. So I asked him to bring me another one. He went in and came back within minutes. He apologized for the incident and flambéed the crêpe again. Obviously, that was the same crêpe. There was no orange rum sauce on it. He just poured rum over the same crêpe and that was it. I was given a crêpe and raw rum. I guess maybe because I'm black he assumed I wouldn't know better, but not only I'm food enthusiast and I know damn well what a crêpe suzette is supposed to look like and taste like, but I'm also French. The waitress walked by later and quickly blurted out "oh by the way, we removed the crêpe suzette from your bill, okay!", and went on to other table. I mean the audacity and the disrespect was real! I was appalled by the rude service, the horrible and belittling treatment, and dismissive behavior of the staff. Last, my friend arrived to meet me for lunch, and I was so horrified that I told him we couldn't stay and I asked for my check. He asked Bryan to speak to a manager. At that moment Bryan was suddenly concerned, proceeded with apologizing to me, and offered to comp my meal to make up for the incident. My friend was equally horrified by the response, and posted a review here as well. While I was gathering my stuff to leave, the waitress had the audacity to come confront me about my friend's review. She was upset about the negative review and started arguing that we weren't being fair, that it was an exaggeration to post that her service was horrible... that she was busy because the restaurant was packed and I should not deem her service horrible just because she didn't smile at me and was nice to the lady next to me. She told me the lady was a regular, that's why there's familiarity and my review was exaggerated. I told her that the fact that she knows she didn't give me a good service because "she was busy" and did not come out to apologize, but instead, has the audacity to come confront me out loud in front of everyone after she witnessed I was spilled on and burnt, THAT in itself makes it all HORRIBLE. I had to tell her I will NOT argue my point of view and the way I felt mistreated there with her. But she wouldn't let go. While I was getting ready to leave, she continued to argue with me. This was absolutely a horrible experience and there were dead cockroaches in the ladies bathroom. Absolutely horrible experience and I will post this review everywhere possible including the...
Read moreWe came at around 11am today hoping to have nice French breakfast. We love French breakfast and have been to many places in Miami, unfortunately this is not our favorite. I read reviews before picking this spot because we usually go to Cafe Bastile and wanted to change it up, and a lot of people were giving props to the crepes. The main reason why I’m giving you one star rating it’s because the guys that you had working there today, number one were SO DISRESPECTFUL to the female employee that it was all they were worried about, they were making sexual and crazy disrespectful comments to this girl that I don’t know how one didn’t get slapped. Number two, the server was more worried about the jokes to this girl and cleaning than taking care of us. The guy in this picture is the reason why after ordering coffee and croissants we got up and left to eat somewhere else. He didn’t pay attention to us.. not sure if it was because he asked if he could speak in Spanish and we told him English was easier for us to understand, because his Spanish had a thick accent we couldn’t understand (coming from a family that has 2 different ethnic backgrounds) The croissants and the Madeline were AMAZING! But, this guy takes a simple order of cappuccino, espresso, 2 croissants, a Madeline and a ham and cheese croissant, he came back a couple of times so that we could remind him what he was missing(very bad!) also, when we talked to him he walked away like he was rushing to clean (the place was empty!!) and we had to repeat stuff because he would not listen or paid attention. He seems to love cleaning. But for dealing with the public, he’s awful. Someone that treats people like they are getting on the way of his cleaning shouldn’t...
Read moreArrived for Sunday brunch and for starters waited over 20min for a table when there plenty of free tables just sitting there unbussed and empty. This was the first sign of the level of service to come. Once seated, the table was NOT cleaned. I asked one of the servers to please clean the table she gave me a really dirty look and then used an even dirtier rag. Many guests were frustrated over the seating procedure and waitin to pay for bills. We waited a while for our order to be taken. Food was good and fresh. This was the plus side. When bill arrived, 18% gratuity was already included even though service was NOT worth it. A simple breakfast for 2 came out to about $56 including tip. Not worth it. But the worst part is when I looked at my bank statement, I was charge $70!!! Where did this number come from? I used to work in hospitality in Miami Beach. So I always check my bills because it’s common practice for places to already include a tip. I can’t believe they would have the to audacity to not only include auto tip with such abysmal service but to then UPCHARGE an amount I DID NOT SIGN FOR. That is fraud and so unethical. Needles to say I will NEVER go there again and disputed the charge with my bank. Check your bank statements and make sure you don’t value good service because you won’t...
