Walking down Ocean Dr we came up on Ocean 7. We decided to give this place a try since we never tried this place. It was hot outside so we asked if we could sit inside. The inside was the lobby of the hotel which is ok but the seats we low to the ground and the tables we small. The hostess sat us down and we waited for about 10 min before things went from pleasant to not so good.
The waitress Leslie came over and didn't introduce herself but came over like you ready to order. No hello my name is Leslie and would you like water or something to drink so I asked her what her name was and we wanted water and time to look over the menu. She came back with the water and again asked us if we were ready to order. So at this point she was rushing us to get our order in. Didn't bother to say what's good on the menu or anything. So my wife order the red snapper and I ordered the salmon. Not too long after we ordered the food came out and we ordered the large sangria.
Food was tasty but not seasoned very well being we had to add salt and pepper to the meal. The salmon came with a salad and the snapper came with rice and a side salad.e bill and we barely was finished eating. Plus the large drink so I told her we was still working on the food and drink. 5 min later she comes over again and asks the same question so now I'm feeling pressure for us to leave I guess so she could turn over the table. I asked her to bring the bill which she did promptly. So trying to suck down the drink her comes Leslie again asking are we ready to pay So in giving her the check I was waiting on my change for over 10 min and guess what Leslie never came back with the change so we got up and asked for a manager. The manager Jeff was outside so I approached him and told him that our bill was $118 and change and Leslie never brought back my $1 and change but it wasn't about the change it was about her thinking she could just keep the change without asking. Also she didn't take time out to ask about drinks and explain the food options.
After me explaining to Jeff what happened he asked if we had time for him to make it up and buy us a drink and dessert on him so we took him up on it but I told him we eat at alot of places and his staff needs to improve on their hospitality because if it wasn't for him I would have gave 2 stars because the service was just that bad.
I'm on the fence in recommending this spot because the food was ok to good but the service was down right HORRIBLE. Not to mention after Leslie must have got caught keeping the $$ she came out saying she was looking for us to bring the change which she wasn't because we sat there for over 10 min.
Again this spot is peoples choice on if you want to come here.
Food decent Bad to terrible service
You pick. All I can say is management needs to retrain the staff on hospitality not just trying to rush people out to...
Read moreI will sum up my review if you don’t want to read everything: avoid any restaurant in the Ocean Drive if you can, they OVERPRICED, they charge crazy EXTRA FEES (so if you think you see something with a good price, just wait for the bill at the end), the food is okay and drinks are not really good, specially the big ones. They have good ratings because the servers kinda “make” you (not really make you, they just put in a weird position) write a review at the end. The food we ordered was around $27 on the menu, but after all the fees, we paid almost $45 PER PERSON, NO DRINKS, no appetizers only a main course each.
I was there a couple weeks ago with my family. I know the ocean drive restaurants are basically a tourist trap, but I had to choose a restaurant to eat because I was with my grandma and she needed to eat fast. We went to this one because the host was a dear and very inviting. The server was nice, food came out fast. Food, like I said before is okay, nothing I would go back to eat again - not because it was bad, but because it’s nothing special. When we received the bill, first I noticed they charge a RESORT FEE - note this restaurant is also a hotel, now me, just eating there, had to pay around $6,90 in resort fees. Why -would you ask? Beats me! Then they charge a 20% service fee - great service is included in the bill then, I asked the server - to what I was told only 10% would go to them. Not sure if that was true or not, or even if that is right for the restaurant to do, I gave another 7% on top. Then they ask you to post a review of the restaurant in a way that kind of puts you in a weird position, like to do it right there, in front of them, of course they say in a super nice way, but kind of like: do it now, I am watching. But I manage to get out of doing in front of him because it was not going to be a good one. I know how this works and I’m sure this is an imposition from management owners.
I didn’t want to add the review right after eating there because the server was super nice and I don’t want to get anyone in trouble.
My advice: if you go down a couple of blocks down from the beach you will find much better restaurants - expensive, most likely - but much better experience and no...

Based on our great first experience, we came back to this place during our second Miami trip, but unfortunately it was very underwhelming this time. The service felt rushed and off from the start. Our server seemed impatient, almost judging us for ordering only two items and not being too interested in drinks. When we asked for suggestions, he mentioned two appetizers, and when I chose just one, he told his trainee to add both until I corrected him—then reacted like it was odd we weren’t getting both. The vegetarian paella, which was delicious last time, was bland and lacked flavor this time. The virgin piña colada wasn’t good either. On top of that, the service felt careless: no one checked on us, appetizers and mains came out rushed and at the same time, and at one point my chair was hit twice by the server’s tray/stand, making a loud noise, but no one bothered to ask if I was okay. Overall, it felt like they just wanted to get us in and out quickly. With the automatic 20% tip added, it really seemed like our server wasn’t motivated to provide decent service. Disappointing compared to our first visit.
4/25 - Nice place with great service and a really good overall vibe. Even during a busy afternoon, their outdoor seating was well set up with umbrellas and shade, making it comfortable to sit outside. It was cool and pleasant—only thing is, the tables are a bit small.
Our server was super helpful and suggested a vegetarian paella that’s not on the menu (no meat or seafood). We decided to try it and were really glad we did—it turned out to be delicious and definitely something I’d recommend.
We also tried a small red sangria and a medium caipirinha. The drinks were generous in size. The sangria was decent, but the caipirinha was really good. We got a margherita pizza as well, which was okay.
Overall, it was a great experience. Would definitely recommend...
