Hard to find casual Italian restaurant in Miami that actually looks and tastes like a good Italian restaurant!! Amor di Pasta is conveniently located just outside Wynwood area with plenty of neighborhood parking. It's modern, spacious and comfortable for a casual night out. My only negative is the wait staff. Friendly and accommodating but fairly clueless on basic service. Lack of training it seems. Owner was present but not involved. One waiter knew what he was doing but couldn't handle every table. When service is just as important or I would argue "more important" than the food, you cannot put people on the floor that have little or no training on service or the menu or wines. It detracts from the experience. Having said that, and hoping they out more emphasis on wait staff, the rest of the review is 4 star!! Charcuterie was outstanding and presented uniquely. Cheese board was delicious with one exception. Ricotta does not belong on a cheese plate. The pizza was very good with fresh toppings and the pasta dishes were tasty although not al dente enough for my taste...can any restaurant get this right? You can't precook pasta to al dente and then add sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes. ITS NO LONGER AL DENTE!!! Precooked pasta has to be chewy and starchy and "par cooked." Add sauce and cook for 2 minutes to infuse sauce into the pasta and bring it to al dente. Ugh!! Desserts were very good and nicely presented. This neighborhood place is worth trying. Food overall was enjoyable and shortcomings can be overlooked. Will be a go-to once they train up their staff. Congrats on the food!!
I was rudely and unprofessionally attacked by the owner after posting what I thought was an honest and good review. I was accused of posting fake pics and being dishonest. I posted it 3 weeks after my visit and was slammed for that as well. My initial 3 star review in YELP is now a 2 star here and as I would have gone back to try it again once they get their servers better trained, now I would never return. My comments to the owner are below.
To Owner: I reviewed this restaurant 3 weeks after my visit because I was out of commission for a few weeks. As for the obsolete pics comment, I find it odd that you would call a change in the menu after 3 weeks obsolete. The pics I took myself. There was no silverware on the table because the waitstaff didn't bring any. If you weren't open, how could we have been served food. I see other reviews complaining about the service as well. My comments were mostly positive. So I find it a bit worrisome that your focus is on the obsolete cheese selection or a tomato and not concern for your over cooked pasta or immature servers. Good luck to you.
Owner continues to accuse me of writing a fake review for some disgruntled waiter. Those of you who follow me on social media, or have bought my book on Amazon know...
Read more(NOTE: I was at the location on NE 2nd Ave.) We ate here on a Sunday afternoon and had a really good meal. The place is very clean and stark white and bright and welcoming inside. There is also a nice outdoor seating area.
BTW: I learned this AFTER I paid for street parking - there's is a free parking lot behind the restaurant - our server told us, but we had already sprung for street parking.
I ordered a margarita pizza ($11). It was big and definitely enough for 2 people to share. The crust was thin and it was very good. I ordered it well-done, and they accommodated that request (I like my pizza crispy!). I really enjoyed it. My friend ordered just some pasta in a cream sauce (not specifically on the menu). They accommodated that somewhat special request also - and her's was very good and plentiful (the charge was about $13). As an appetizer, we had the rosemary focaccia bread. It was served hot and is a generous portion - probably enough for 3 or 4 to share as an appetizer. While the bread was very good, I would have liked a little more of the rosemary cooked in it - it came with a nice rosemary sprig on top, but was a little lacking in the rosemary. (They also put a complimentary bread basket on our table when we arrived.)
I am saving the best for last, the dessert. We had the chocolate biscuits (salame cioccolato). OMG, sooooo delicious!!! It comes with a tiny dollip of gooey white chocolate (the server said that's what it was) that was divine!! I think this is one of the best desserts I have eaten. While my photo makes the dessert look small - it wasn't. It was served on a GIANT plate (presentation was very nice). 2 of us shared it and it was rich and just enough.
We enjoyed our meal here. Our server was a very nice young man and a good server. I believe he was the only one serving, and was a bit overwhelmed; but, the service was still good. He is an asset to this...
Read moreamor de pasta is a nice place to go with your family in wynwood Miami and have some authentic Italian food their prices are reasonable and the food is very yummy we had portobello mushroom and the pesto pasta the toppings are very minimal and the portions are light so that you don't feel your stuff we were there the whole night had some drinks with the family and caught up parking across the street or on the sidewalk is available to everyone you can't even walk here this is a 200-word version of Google review so that I can get more points that's why the review is very long but the food is very good to have other selections like steaks and pasta with vodka sauce with rose a sauce they have beer they haven't really really high ceiling and the space is very nice and cozy we did find a little cockroach on the floor by the couch so they have to get rid of that if you're reading this don't let the cockroach discourage you from going to this place practically there are cockroaches everywhere in Miami restaurants but the food is yummy the pasta seems like handmade homemade like the way grandma would make it and I enjoyed my time there -2 little friend that was walking around the couch the servers are nice and friendly and the food comes out relatively good so I don't know if this reached 200 words but I think I rambled on for so long that that should be enough for Google to consider this as a 200 word review I gave this store 5-star despite the fact that we saw some cockroach there the food was good and yummy and the staff were nice and the prices could be a little bit more friendly but it's still good thank you for reading this long review I hope Google considers this as a long review cheers enjoy your meal here lots of pasta lots of food yum yum...
