Read moreWe ate at the chefs counter and had the “off the menu” omakase which included an appetizer, a selection of nigiri, miso soup and a dessert. There’s no official sake pairing but the chef does give a recommendation. We love omakase and have it regularly. Chef Tomo is a delight and truly passionate about his menu. The nigiri was very fresh and was not served “plain”, but was topped with various ingredients or flame broiled. This gave some new flavors we had not been exposed to, some may say this is less traditional. However, it was delicious. The appetizer was so good, topped with uni, need I say more. The food and chef counter vibe were 5 stars no doubt. The front of house leaves a lot to be desired. They were on their phones most of the time, had no clue what sake was on the menu or what to recommend, unable to name the fish, weren’t working in a way that seems “high end” or with superior service, in fact they don’t seem to care about this job or restaurant at all which is sad since they are essentially the face of the place. There’s so much...

The second visit we had the off menu nigiri option which included more than 10 pieces of nigiri, a hand roll, edamame, and hamachi which left us both perfectly full at the end of the meal. The array of sake choices allows for all different palates to enjoy (and again all different price points). My only critique would be the dessert menu which each time I have gone seems a bit lacking. I had the strawberry mochi which was good but I would probably forego it and instead get another piece of sushi to fill any remaining space. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone in the area and will definitely be...
