This place is 40% of a restaurant. It began with the dull as a dishrag hostess, letting a line form while disappearing from the stand for minutes on end despite many empty tables indoors and out on a Saturday night. It continued with the server who seemed to want to be anywhere but there. The food order was put in and things all came out when they were ready, leaving one of us with food and the other with a side that sat there and got cold. We got the drink menu after we placed a food order, and drinks arrived after half our food was finished. Some food never arrived. There were no salsas on the table that were mentioned in other reviews. Food runners didn’t know which table got which items. It’s too bad because the food was good (with some of it being great), and the atmosphere was funky and fun. Maybe this was the intended authentic Mexican restaurant experience they aspired to? Mañana was definitely the attitude from everyone we encountered. We did have fun chuckling about the experience with people at other tables, so all was not lost. There’s one of these in Chicago where we live, but we wouldn’t travel too far (or at all) to give...
Read moreTacombi is open in the Brickell area and well it was underwhelming. The options are limited, the service is OK and the food isn't bad but for what you're paying doesn't really make it worth it at all in my opinion. I went during a Tuesday around lunch time and it was quiet and somehow the service was still very slow. We ordered a chicken quesadilla, three tacos, and corn esquites which were the highlight and favorite! The corn esquites were filled with so much flavor and if I were to come back I would just order those, that's how good we are talking! Everything else about this spot I found out it to be underwhelming though and there are so many other taco spots to check out in the area where you can get a better deal and overall better experience. And not sure if the prices are going to get looked at since I know most likely this is going to turn several potential customers away. It's not a good deal for the small portions you're getting served and ending up with a $60+ bill at the end...
Read moreYesterday I went to eat at Atacombi with my husband and some friends for the first time, and honestly, I was very disappointed.
To start, their Instagram says that happy hour is from 4 to 7. That post has been up for a long time, and I always check there insta before going somewhere to see what promotions they have. When we arrived, they told us it had changed, that the post was very old, and now happy hour is from 4 to 6. They should really update their Instagram posts because it’s misleading advertising. No big deal —
we stayed anyway, and I ordered a margarita. For $14, I expected something better. I also ordered an al pastor taco, expecting it to be amazing, but it was the worst al pastor taco I’ve ever had. The other tacos were just okay. The esquite was very, very good, and the guacamole was the only thing really worth it.
The service was very slow, and honestly, I left disappointed. It had been highly recommended to me, but I don’t...
