Gelsosomo's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Michigan City

I’ve only been to the Michigan City location and all I can say is it is inconsistent. I’m a low carber. First time I ordered their keto crust pizza it was absolutely amazing. I’d of given 10 stars. Each of the next 3x I ordered it, it was not good. It all comes down to the thickness of the sausage crust. First time I ordered it, it was an even 1/8” sausage crust edge to edge. So that the toppings to crust ratio was absolute perfection. Besides a slight textural difference, that particular keto crust pizza was nearly indistinguishable from a normal thin crust pizza. Every other subsequent time I’ve ordered it, the sausage crust varied in thickness across the whole pizza, from a 1/4”-5/8” sausage crust. Yeah I’m getting more food, but I’d gather they’d say “way too much” if you asked the owner or a manager. When the sausage crust is thicker than the cheese and toppings it simply mucks up that balance that makes it taste like pizza. . It goes from being a keto crust pizza, to a bunless sausage burger with cheese and condiments. Wings were on point though. They’re traditional wing style that’s unbreaded. Perfect for low carbers...

Last 2 visits to Michigan City restaurant have been a fiasco. 2 trips ago: loud large group also with noisy children and my order was wrong. When I said something to the waitress she just said yeah that is wrong and walked away. Never offered to fix the error. They deducted my food from the bill at least and we always enjoyed the food in the past. So we shrugged it off. Last trip: an obnoxious birthday party of screaming girls running around....parents and adults ignoring them. Why weren't they placed somewhere else way from the general diners that simply wanted a good meal and the company of the people they walked in the door with. I could not even hear conversation from acrossed my table above the noise. And the grand finale was as the waitress rushed to service us she flipped my plate on the table. The bread rolled off my plate onto my seat and into my lap. Not going back....what a joke....wrong food, food not served correctly, bad atmosphere....do not waste your...

We stopped in for dinner on our first night in Michigan City. The food was served hot and fresh! We ordered two salads, a pizza, and a dessert chocolate chip cookie. The lettuce in the Cesar salad was crispy and fresh. The Cesar dressing was so tasty! The Parmesan cheese hit the spot on the salad too. The pizza was cooked perfectly with a crispy crust. There was some cheddar cheese that was part of the cheese mix and I liked it, but my friend did not like it that way. The sauce did have a sweetness to it that I thought made it super flavorful and satisfying! The chocolate chip cookie had three big scoops of ice cream on it.
