While I'll maintain a positive tone in this review, it's needing a management's attention. I was exciting to try a new cafe but my excitement was quickly overshadowed by a series of unfortunate events at this recently opened Korean chain bakery cafe. Upon arrival, it became obvious that the staff lacked of knowledge about the menu, the girl who works there event didnât know about it existence of lavender flavour( I understand they didnât have lavender flavour for coffee) but absence of plates for enjoying our cakesâŚ. We were told to eat our cakes straight from the boxes they were served in, or from trays that had been touched by everyone. We were waiting for our drinks 10 minutes and despite our patience, the wait for our drinks stretched unreasonably long, with numerous (at least 10) customers served ahead of us despite our initial place in line. And they were not busy!!!! I came to the counter and asked for refund since I almost finished my cake. My boyfriend patiently was waiting all this time there and when I got there AGAIN they said drinks are coming⌠15 minutes laterâŚ.. The frustration peaked when the delay was due to the inability of the staff to prepare basic drinks like a chai latte. The girl who served us said to main barista that she simply doesnât know how to do it!!! Seeing the main barista pass the task to an untrained colleague made us even more disappointed. Seriously? What she will prepare if she donât know how?! Do not need to make a âtrialâ drink on us! Then they finally offered us a refund for the drinks. And guess what!? They didnât know how to do this in the computer!!!! Finally they offered cash! While a partial refund was provided, the overall experience left much to be desired. Also, cakes priced at $8 should be exceptional, but unfortunately, these cakes were just an average. And the drinks were simply awful. To the management, I suggest you to invest time and resources into training your staff before opening a new establishment. While youthful energy can be beneficial and you can save money, it must be coupled with proper instruction to avoid such disappointing experiences. As someone with industry experience, I know the importance of preparation and professionalism in ensuring customer satisfaction. This cafe has potential, but without addressing these issues,it has risks to fail. And plates,...
Read moreWell, since I've been here at least seven times and just barely downloaded the app, I will start there. Get the points. Download the app! This place isn't cheap, and you'll be back.
My first visit, the line was crazy. Subsequent visits have been less crazy.
If you've been to Tous les Jours, this place is very similar. You grab a tray and parchment paper and grab what you want out of the cases. They have a mix of savory and sweet items, and a full case of cold items at the front. Their rotating seasonal items are a little more plentiful than at TLJ, and their line moves more quickly too. They also have a much bigger drink offering than TLJ, which is helpful for me as a decaf drinker. They serve Lavazza coffee at Paris Baguette, for what that's worth.
There's plenty of seating, and it's very bright and welcoming. The tables could be turned over a little better, but my guess is people sit down before staff has a chance to wipe them. Still, nothing has ever been crazy dirty or anything. It's on the noisier side, so if you're looking for a quiet cafe, this probably isn't it.
The owner is so sweet and enthusiastic. She makes the visit worth it on her own.
I'd say to plan for $4-6 per item on average, if you want to budget yourself ahead of time.
As for the menu items - I'm a big fan of the coffee croissant, which is basically a cronut with coffee custard filling, rolled in sugar. It's very dense and so, so good. My husband is a fan of the mochi donuts. And my toddler will eat anything sweet and processed, of course. He picked out the strawberry mochi donut today and ate the whole thing.
Paris Baguette is absolutely worth a visit (or seven). I wish it weren't right by my Smith's as it makes it hard to resist on a...
Read moreSo happy to have a Paris Baguette hereâmy familyâs favorite bakery! The cakes are delicious! Thatâs what you have to go for when you go, especially if youâre a fan of not too sweet desserts that are on the light and airy side. A lot of the options were gone/sold out by the time I was there (I went around 7 pm), but the ones I got were generally tasty, even though some of the bread felt a little stale/dry compared to my expectations of previous visits to other Paris Baguettes. Overall, the location, the set up, and vibes are great, but I did have a few concerns. There are no tongs? Typically, there are tongs at Korean bakeries but after looking everywhere and finding no tongs, and seeing people just grab between different pastries with their fingers and having to do the same with mine felt a little unsanitary. Also, the packaging feels like it could have an upgrade. They have really big clunky brown boxes for single slices of cakes that hardly fit in the bags. Also, they put all of my individually wrapped items and unwrapped items all in the same paper bag sleeve when I got some items to go which I wasnât a fan of after having to pull out greased up packages and thinking about all of the fingers that may have touched each of the items⌠anyway. Iâll be back again soon, but probably just will stick to the cakes for...
