I appreciate your response Crave, but no some of your facts are incorrect. You have a couple of kids working there so its going to become a he said she said situation. The fact is my boy was peer pressured into something valued less than his card both price and intrinsic. Adults should be involved with all "deals" no exceptions. We will not visit you anymore and I have noticed in many conversations that most of the "collector" community think your business is rotten. So to you well wishes, to your business I hope it goes under. And get rid of the lame streamer, he is literally every stereotype of streaming there can be. So lame.
Changing my review because my 9 year old was peer pressured and burned on a deal that shouldnāt have been made. Children under 18 should not be making deals with other children that work there daily. I was not there for this interaction. But the comments were confirmed by another party that was also there. My 9 year old was naive and too young to understand what deal making is. The worker asked to look at my boys binder and proceeded to pull a Chinese eevee without permission. The worker then moved the card out of sight while my boy was looking at other cards and got distracted. My boy the. Asked where the card was and the worker showed it to him but didnāt offer it back. The worker then offered $32 for the card and then almost immediately changed it to $30 offer. Then offered a deck builder box of Paradox Rift build and battle bundle. All the while still holding on to my sonās card. He then told my son how good of a deal it was and how good of a box it was. My son again naive 9 year old didnāt know any better and took the deal.
Again no one under 18 should be allowed to make deals at a retail / resell storefront also ran by underage children. At no time was an adult involved or present at the store.
I will never return to store and I will never recommend this store.
We feel scammed.
If you wanna make it right please...
Ā Ā Ā Read more(Edit) As of 10/2/23, Bailey the store owner replied to my Facebook reply advising someone not to sell at their store (so they can make more on eBay)
He said what I said was derogatory and proceeded to reply in a huge block of "business information" to explain to me (like I'm a 5 year old) about how business works. The time I had went was cool, they always are up to comps on bins (giving little no to discount), yet their bins of cards are never organized. So when you walk up to the counter with bargain bin items, stay prepared to wait for a long time. These guys charge $50 for Prizm retail (can find at $30 elsewhere).
All I can say is that Bailey (the owner) is extremely sensitive and has a reputation of being tough to deal with. I've heard stories myself, but those aren't mine to tell, I can only speak of my interaction. He simply overreacted when I told someone they would grossly underpay or their cards, it's just the truth..Crave has a business to run
Awful experience, I would never advice anyone to work with Bailey. Hopefully he fixes his poor attitude. Good people, but they spend too much time looking at prices for their bargain bins. If you claim to have bargain bins but check every card you think might be worth something, then what's the fun with going through these bins at Crave?
Again great people, but the idea of finding gems here isn't worth it. They don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWanted to trade my PokĆ©mon Cards for something better and was lowballed of over 80% of market value at Collect-A-Con. I took my cards to an appraiser before arriving, which the appraiser said my collection was worth $2,172 based on market value. I then took my collection to see āhow much Iāll getā.
[Before I went to the Crave Collect table, I took a card out of my stack to serve as an honesty test.]
I said I was looking to get around $1500 but the lowest Iāll go is $1000 as a trade, taking into account the percent cash vs trade in. After 2 minutes, I was told āIāll buy everything off of you for $240ā. I mentioned that I was appraised for just under $1500. I was told that a lot of my cards was only worth $5-$10 with a few of $25, which is untrue as I priced them out beforehand using the same app that Crave Collectibles uses [Iām also a vendor in the DMV area] which none of my cards were below $50. I showed one of the employees representing the company a PSA 10 Base Set Squirtle and asked him āHow much for this one?ā I was told ā$10ā. I just said āNo Thank You. That card is worth $90ā. Gathered my cards and left.
You guys failed the honesty test! And the card that I withheld is a PSA 10 Rayquaza VMAX Alt Art...
