my partner was walking outside to view the photos; the waitress invites her in; so we just "go with the flow" and decide to have lunch here. BIG Mistake. FOOD and Service SUCKS!!! We ordered the popular Spicy Fish, cold tofu, eggplant, and skewers. Fish looked okay but was overcooked (very dry), and had to wait for the soup/ sauce to be soaked up by the fish before eating. This was VERY SALTY and Spicy (even after we requested for medium spicy). They charge heavy on the fish but are very very cheap and do not put even celery, potato, NOR Napa Cabbage on this dish. Some mushrooms and thick taro noodles are totally not worth it. For the price, the veggies should be more to make the dish BIGGER and MORE Appealing. Tofu dish had no taste, plain, and salt was saved on this dish (very little green onions and some sprinkles of sesame). Tofu was not even in cube form; they seemed to have used old tofu that did not "hold it's shape" anylonger. Next was the EggPlant; OMG ... slight flavor and very cheap on the ingredients!!! Most knowledgeable restaurants would use glaric to flood the surface of the Steamed EggPlant; this place values it's garlic because it must be expensive but only want to charge for the high price and not provide essentials for the dish; wasn't even steamed soft. Lastly, we had to order two bowls of rice for the WayOverPriced ($50 Single Fish), Overcooked, Salty, & Spicy Fish dish. OMG, the waitress brought out TWO BOWLS of COLD RICE. It was so cold, my chopsticks had a tough time grasping the rice grains. I immediately asked the waitress to "Microwave" the bowls of rice. She looked LOST!!! She did not know what a 'Microwave' was. I looked at her as tho she was kidding but she was not. A male waiter who spoke English felt the bowls of rice and informed me they will re-heat it for me. What the HECK type of restaurant does not have rice??? After 2 minutes, the male waiter brings the rice bowls back. The bowls, made of heavy black plastic, were super HOT. BUT the rice was not even a bit warm. These people are so DUMB that they steam the bowls but FAIL to realize that customers eat RICE, Not the bowls. How difficult is it to take the rice out and place into a metal container for steaming; heat transfer NOT heat insulation from the heavy black plastic bowls. Or just get two NEW RICE bowls from the Rice Cooker pot. I guess RICE is also SUPER EXPENSIVE to this owner; they do not have extra cooked and edible RICE in situations like these. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT; their sign should not be displayed as "Soft Opening" BUT instead .... "HARD CLOSED!!!"
This restaurant should be RATED AT " NEGATIVE 3 " ... A MINUS 3 for serving COLD / DAY OLD RICE, Charging more than a FAIR price for food, and cheating people for their money. I paid $4.00 for 2 bowls of rice, you cheated me without giving me an adequate product; fyi $30 for 50lbs of Rice from Costco. TOO BAD I cannot deduct STARS!!!I
Fish $10, Tofu $3, Eggplant $3 Rice 10lb $16; these are daily prices at Whole Foods. What in the world is the owner of this place thinking!!! The Serving Staff needs to be "TRAINED!!!"
To the owner: You got this wonderful FOOD REVIEW for trying to save money and serve COLD AND DAY OLD RICE!!! Learn how to cook rice and overestimate consumption rate. Otherwise "GO HOME!!!" I don't know what else you do to cheat customers for their money. I can write you a ANOTHER Review for your Tofu Dish if you keep this up.
Don't Worry, I already HELPED you with an appointment for the Health Inspector/ FOOD Safety Inspector .... the same way you helped me with my "Rice Request!" I got you...
Read moreWe had a birthday celebration for my daughter here. We had it inside. We ordered many BBQ skewers especially the lamb skewers... All of the BBQ skewers were delicious and they have a variety of Fried Rice in which I really like. I am allergic to shrimp so when I told the server named Cindy about it, she said it can be customized without shrimp or replace the shrimp with another meat or egg. The inside was clean. Bathroom too. I was allowed to bring my daughter's birthday cake and the manager offered to refrigerate it and will bring it out once we are ready for my daughter to blow out the candles on it. They provided very good service. My guests loved all their foods. Also, they are the only Chinese Restaurant open between 2pm to 5pm while all other Asian Restaurants are closed between 2pm to 5pm. This restaurant is open Monday thru Thursday from 11am to 11:30pm and open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11am to 2am the next day. It also has music inside. They played a Happy Birthday music for my daughter after singing to her and we started serving the cake. We had a wonderful...
Read moreLong wait time, it took more than 30 mins for them to serve the fish after order was placed, while others who came in much later than us already got their roast fish, the waiter never cared to stop by and checked in with us. Had to ask them to ensure the food was indeed being prepared (who knows what happened), and no apology from them on the unusual wait. Then after the fish was served, no one brought the rice we ordered to us for 5 mins until I asked them to get it. Terrible experience and will never go back.
By the way, they play a trick to make people feel like that the fish isn't too expensive (although $50 is already a hefty amount for the fish alone) but it doesn't come with anything else so you have to add additional things which makes it even more expensive, especially given the very small portions of these.
Lastly, the fish has a mysterious unnatural flavor in it which made me think that they may have used artificial sauces and...
