Sarku Japan — Restaurant in Milpitas

Sarku Japan is inside the food court of Great Mall. Upon lining up, you’ll see that this is the only food place that has lines of people waiting for their food and lined up for ordering. The line goes by fast and the food comes out quick! We ordered Teriyaki Chicken with mixed vegetables over rice. The chicken they used is dark meat, you’ll never taste any dry pieces of chicken. It’s slathered with teriyaki sauce. The sweet creamy teriyaki sauce that everyone unknowingly can tell that it is. Mixed veggies consist of broccoli, carrots and chopped lettuce and is sautéed until wilted. Everything mixed with the rice so well, every spoon scoop was a solid perfect stack for just the perfect bite! We asked for double chicken and upon pick up, I asked the chef for extra sauce. He gladly poured it out and I happily thanked him.

We ordered the regular chicken teriyaki bento box(chicken,rice, veggies, california roll & gyoza) & modified chicken teriyaki noodles(no salad) bento box.

What we love: Good customer service, Cashier lady was helpful, she let us modify our order from rice to noodles (we didnt see that they have noodle options in their menu) Chicken Teriyaki was bomb!! We really enjoyed it. Price is reasonable

Things we didnt care for:

The california roll was meh The greens/salad was extremely disappointing. It was mushy and watery like it was overboiled, no flavor at all The gyoza was super dry and didnt come with any sauce

Still like the place, most likely will not order the bento box next time,...

The food was delicious, chicken was tender and rice was well cooked but the veggies it tasted like a day old or might be overcooked. Still we liked the food and ate it all. The price was higher than usual, it’s okay because it’s California wages higher. The main star was Carlos, the one who was giving samples. Oh my, he was giving sample to each and everyone and no matter you been there twice. He was enthusiastic and friendly. The cashier was pleasant but did not suggest anything , the one who served the food you know the one who prepared well he did not say anything. Service was fast and efficient. Will come back for Carlos and probably well prepared...
