Everyone knows Colectivo has decreased in food quality and raised prices, like most of the world today. I still went today because my local deli was out of my selection. I went during a lull period, around 3:30 on a Wednesday. I was hopeful my 5-10 minute wait was going to be accurate. To my surprise, the people working didn’t start it until 15 minutes after I ordered. What irked me the most, however, was witnessing the male shift lead/manager (not sure official title) openly being creepy towards a female presenting barista. Things like “you’re so mature for your age” and “your smile is infectious”. I felt so terrible for the barista. She didn’t deserve those out of line comments. The person who made my order was not this barista I’d like to add. She was trying to do other side work while she was dealing with this dude. She even said at one point “Why are you still here?” or something along those lines. He didn’t pick up the hint. I really hope this reaches the right person where a change can be made. I’d be glad to provide additional...
Read moreTo be honest, my husband is not a fan of their coffee and I don't drink coffee, so we never actually have gone in since we moved to MKE 8 months ago. I was hangry and desperately looking for a place w a breakfast sandwich before work (my office is about 2 blocks away), so I went into Collectivo and shocked by what I found. I think I was expecting it to be like Stone Creek or Starbucks (a pretty blah bakery w limited options) but WOW. Not the case at all.
So many amazing option. REAL bagels. Perfect zucchini bread (My favorite since I was a little girl! Not many people make it!). Pop Pastries. Cookies. My hubby really liked the goodies I brought back to the office too. I have yet to try their sandwich menu, but I'm excited to go back in for lunch.
I really did want to give it 5 Stars, but my hubby isn't a fan of their coffee and their tea to me was meh, (I will admit we are coffee & tea snobs). But literally based on their bakery, great atmosphere and friendly staff alone we will come back at least once a week...
Read moreI've always enjoyed this location and it's hot chocolate, but today I've had one of the worst experiences there. I ordered my usual hot chocolate, paid, and started to leave. After getting out the door, I tasted my drink and realized it did not taste the same. It tasted like an apple pie that had too much cinnamon added to it and an after taste of nasty herbs. I went back in and told the staff that this what not what I ordered and the lady who was making the drinks told me they had run out of their usual chocolate and they had used dark chocolate. I can safely say that it was not dark chocolate. I was not informed that they had run our of their usual hot chocolate mix and was never offered a refund, only something else that was less then the price of the hot chocolate. If a refund had been offered or something of equal value, I dont think I would have had such a bad...
