Excellent, from start to finish. Menu is great, I wanted one of everything! We settled with the Escargo, Bread is a must! Special tonight was the mussels, which were really nice plump juicy, and perfectly executed, make sure you have some bread to sop up the leftover sauce!
Chicken fricassee was cooked to perfection, white breast meat was so juicy, skin was crisp, everything spot on in the dish.
The Cassoulet was another stand out dish, homey and comforting.
TIAN PROVENCALE, with baked eggplant, zucchini, tomato, onion, thyme, olive oil, is a must order dish for us.
The only thing that wasn't exceptional was the POMMES PURÉE, they were pretty average, personal preference wise I'd like about a pound of butter added, that being said texture wise excellent, I do think they were exactly what the set out to be, but we'd prefer more butter ourselves... 😂 so again personal preference, not knocking the dish.
Floating island dessert was the perfect "I want dessert, but don't want to hurt myself with being too full", mix of textures, so light and satisfying, reminiscent of melted ice cream without the heavy lingering flavor, light and clean, almost evaporated off my tongue.
Overall actually really easy to get into and out of, very accessible if you were to be driving into downtown for dinner! We lucked out with street parking!, although $4 to park in the ramp would've been totally easy...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, very much because I was surprised to find that we came in time to partake in Happy Hour! $6 house wines, a bowl of mussels for $13 and Croque Monsieur bites for $9 was the perfect meal for me. The mussels were sweet and small and the Croque Monsieur was hearty, so I'm glad I didn't get a whole sandwich. This turned out to be a reasonably priced meal instead of what I was thinking would've been closer to $100.
My sister also ordered Oysters which were $2 each. They were tiny which suited me fine becsuse then they weren't very briny. She also ordered the Alsatian Tarte Flambee ($12)--flatbread wirh bacon cheese and onions. Quite delicious. She also got the onion soup, which I thought needed a little more saltiness to it. We topped the evening off with a dessert called Floating Island which was custard, meringue and hazelnut nougatine. That was a miss for me, but I liked that other was interesting and not just your typical dessert offering.
The place was nice, although I did have to find my way to the restroom (at the Hilton Canopy lobby). Service was fast. I was worried because we had a show to catch at the Guthrie but everything came pretty swiftly. Come before 6pm on a weekday to...
Read moreI’ve had my eye on this place for a while and was hoping for a good meal, but the whole experience was disappointing. We arrived and there wasn’t a host to greet us and when she did, she was chewing food. We were then seated and kind of forgotten about. When we did get our waiters attention, we finally got water and drinks. He then returned asking if we were “ready to order grub”, and did we want to start with any “apps”. At this point, he hadn’t even talked us thru the menu (which by the way is different than the menu posted online). The only thing we enjoyed about our meal was the bread. For our “app” we had the beet salad, which tasted like curry (surprising flavor since the menu didn’t list curry at all and not a great surprise if you don’t like curry), and we had the flambee (meh…needed salt). I had the scallops which were fine, but the fingerling potatoes were undercooked. My husband had the cassoulet which had zero salt…for a $38 stew, it should be perfectly seasoned, but it wasn’t, Lastly, we tried the Nutella crepe which was almost inedible given the amount of Nutella on the crepe. Also, to the waiter with the long hair…please pull it back. It’s just not proper in a restaurant setting. We...
