My dad and I stopped here for breakfast before heading out to Arches National Park.
The Atmosphere and Service: We walked in and this place instantly felt homey, and we were greeted with a smile. The decor is simple, open concept, and has small touches to make it feel cozy. There is plentiful seating and we chose to sit at the long bar-like table the faced out the front of the store. Here, we were able to enjoy our delicious food and coffee while looking out into the red rocks of Moab. It is counter service, but the staff comes around asking if you need more water, coffee, etc and are incredibly nice and polite.
The Food: The food here is absolutely great and is exactly what you need before a long day of hiking. They have a great variety of breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. The portion sizes are very filling, and the coffee is very good. I personally recommend the breakfast burrito, it fills you up and is absolutely delicious! Whether you are going for breakfast, brunch, or lunch this place has food offerings for you!
Summary: This homey Bistro is exactly what anyone needs before a day out in Moab, whether it be breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The people are incredibly friendly, the food is spectacular, and with great prices it makes Sweet Cravings Bakery + Bistro...
Read moreLong story short, I ordered something that wasn’t on the menu. A plain bagel with avocado. When ordering it wasn’t an issue. The lady taking the order was kind and happy to place it. After calculating the difference between mine and my partners order, it ended up costing about $8 for the bagel and avocado. A little pricey but fine. We are in a tourist town so we weren’t worried. When the order came out there was only a tiny bit of avocado. Maybe enough to cover a quarter of a bagel. My partner politely asked for a bit more and explained that we had paid $8 for the order. The kitchen staff happily gave him a bit more. We were happy with the solution.
The reason I’m writing this review is what happened afterwards. Two separate staff members approached us to tell us in quite a condescending way that they only charged us 75c for the avocado and that we ordered something they don’t usually do. That means a plain bagel must have cost $7.25. That’s a lot of money for one bagel. Again our issue wasn’t with pricing, it was the manner in which we were approached not once but twice. We could tell the staff were annoyed with us in the way they approached us, and that left us feeling very uneasy while trying to...
Read moreI dropped into Sweet cravings bakery and bistro because it was recommended as a top restaurant in a Google search. Although the food was tolerable, I was not very impressed.
The ladies who worked in the front area were very nice. Very chatty, and friendly. The food is served in a cafeteria style scenario. You order, they give you a number, and then you wait at the table. That’s pretty normal, more or less.
I ordered the standard generic breakfast and it was acceptable. I could tell that the eggs were probably made that morning. The bacon was thick and crunchy, just the way I like it. But the English muffin was not toasted or heated in any way. Also, whatever they call that potato patty they gave me was absolutely horrible. Clearly, it was pulled out of the freezer and heated up. It was probably the worst potato-based item I have ever had.
There was an issue with flies buzzing around the dining area, and I want to give them a pass on that and hope that it was just bad timing. Also, I really hated the fact that I had to eat with plastic implements. If they switched to metal forks and knives, I think it would elevate the quality of the establishment considerably.
Either way, I will not...
