We are Carrabba lovers. We’ve been going to Carrabba’s for years always loved the food, the service and they can’t do enough for you to make you have a wonderful experience! that being said, let me start by beginning to tell you we went there, Friday night relatively early it wasn’t busy yet first of all, we were not even greeted by the hostess she was almost rude! We asked for a booth in the bar area because we always like the atmosphere. She did set us at a round booth but it was very small seating. My granddaughter is pregnant and it was a little uncomfortable so we moved to another booth. We sat there for a while and a server did come over and he seemed very friendly we ordered drinks and he said he would be back with the drinks and the bread , some other server did bring over our drinks but we never got any bread no kidding. We sat there a good 15 minutes. Finally the server came over and said I don’t know what’s going on. I went to get your bread and it seems that there wasn’t any bread it was in the freezer ! So we said OK so we waited. He took our order , my husband ordered the salmon, I ordered the steak, our grandson ordered pasta Carrabba and our granddaughter ordered chicken Marcella with plain angel hair on the side. Well, let me tell you we waited and waited and waited. We did get our salads not the usual salads that we used to get They did not seem as fresh, we asked the server to please bring us some bread. My husband ordered another beer. We waited again not kidding you I used to be a server it was ridiculously long finally my husband got up and went to the bar and got his beer. Then someone brought out our food , my husband, salmon was a small piece with ice cold tomatoes on top his pasta with garlic olive oil was all stuck together like one clump. My broccoli was ice cold no kidding just like out of the refrigerator. I orderd fettuccine Alfredo on the side and it was all stuck together and
, there was no cheese sauce. My grandson’s pasta dish was horrible !!!Luke warm, and again no cheese sauce on the fettuccine Alfredo. My granddaughter got hers and they gave her another type of pasta with red sauce. We asked the girl who delivered the food to please take that back and do it right it wasn’t even our server! I think he was in the weeds! Again I am not kidding you, my grandson ate his because he was hungry even though it was barely warm. My husband could not even eat his pasta Put it on his fork one hard clump!!He ate the fish. I ate the steak that was OK nothing else …we were almost finished then they finally brought our granddaughters food out! Totally uncalled for!!!We don’t normally write reviews like this, but Carrabba’s needs to step up and change (this Carrabbas) This is what would give it a very bad reputation and rating! Now, finally, the manager did come over to speak to us, and I must tell you she was very kind she was upset,I did feel bad for her. It’s not her fault, she did make it right for us But it just left a bad taste with us .We really wanted it to be special, since we were out of state and we were celebrating the holiday season with our granddaughter and grandson in-law We were also celebrating that they were having their first baby and we were excited! I hope they can get this Carrabba’s straightened out..Hire some friendly hostess that greets the people and makes them feel welcome. Please correct your fettuccine Alfredo and make it the right way. Always make sure your food is hot and looks presentable on the plate before serving.!!!Make sure order is correct and everyone can eat...
Read moreWe are picky about the restaurants we patronize. Eating out is expensive and we want the places we choose to be better than what we can cook and enjoy at home and we can do that well. We love Italian food. It's the one type of food that we seek out wherever we travel to find those gems. Carrabbas in Mobile has been one of a handfull of favorites we would patronize once or twice a month.
We enjoy sharing the same meal almost every time... Prickly pear Margs, the olive oil/spices/bread, Caprese Burrata, the Fettuccine Weesie with grilled chicken, extra mushrooms and lemon slices on the side (because we like it a little extra lemoney), Caeser salad and perhaps some Tiramisu or another desert.
A few months ago we had a less that normally pleasing experience so we decided to take a pause and make our favorites at home. Tonight we decided to celebrate something and come enjoy our favorite meal once more. The experience was much worse than the one we decided to pause due to a few months ago. We sat a little bit waiting for a waitress, it happens. One came to take our table mentioning being short staffed, we get it but it was hardly a full house and it wasn't the only excuse to come our way for the evening...
We ordered the Margs and the Caprese immediately. Then after a little wait ordered the Weesie/Caesar salad. Waters, bread/spices/olive oil came reasonably quick. The Caprese next not too much longer after we ordered the Weesie. Our Margs took 30+ minutes to get to us and then the Weesie close to a hour after we sat, it was forgotten, incorrectly 1st prepared w/ shrimp instead of chicken theninstead of considering we might have a shellfish alergy the dish wasn't remade just the shrimp removed and grilled chicken added on top, not even mixed in w/the lemon butter/alfredo sauce which also was very lite making the dish too 'dry' compared to every previous time we've enjoyed it. They did take the charge off for the Weesie after sorta volunteering and me saying 'yes please do'.
The FOH manager visited middle early before we were too long waiting but had to know how our dinner was going bad, as the screwed up Weesie dish was vocally broadcast by our inexperienced waitress, and she didn't bother to come acknowledge/appologize in any way.
I don't often review bad experiences but this time I felt it was necessary simply because we love eating at Carrabbas for the last few years...
This was a horrible experience that makes me hope this review gets seen, taken seriously and lites a fire to motivate Carrabbas to self correct back to previous exceptional experiences so we can enjoy the amazing food and service we'd gotten so used...
Read moreI want to preface this review by saying our server, Will, as well as our server assistant, were wonderful. This review has nothing to do with the service they provided and I want to thank them for taking care of us with enthusiasm and kindness.
We are from out of state but have been to our local Carrabba’s several times and expected a similar environment to what we’re used to. There was a short wait but we got sat quickly. However, we did not see any service from the time we got sat at 7:20pm until 7:45pm when we started seeking out employees to figure out why we hadn’t been assigned a server. We flagged down a server assistant to inquire about getting water, and he happily grabbed us some along with a bottle of wine we requested. When we still didn’t receive further service, we flagged down another server who wasn’t aware of whose table we were sitting at, but she offered to help us out after she took care of her own tables. We then approached a hostess and asked if she knew who our server was, to which she did not. The hostesses kind of just sat people anywhere, seemingly without knowing which server’s section they were seating. I couldn’t even pinpoint what their system was for assigning tables to servers, or if there were assigned sections at all. Finally, we approached the only manager we saw over by the kitchen, who was nice but clearly did not have any idea what was going on or which server was supposed to be assigned to which tables. He mostly kept close to kitchen, doing busy work while servers and food runners were going around around from table to table. This manager never came back to check in with us for the entire duration we were there. I didn’t even see the other manager on duty with the black apron until we were halfway through our food, and he was hanging out by the hostess stand and the bar area until he made his way over to the kitchen window as well. All the serving and hosting staff were completely unaware of what tables were assigned to who and THAT is a management issue. We watched the table next to us leave after waiting almost as long as we had, because management did not have a grasp on what was going on and the customers were tired of waiting to receive anything as simple as water. This was the worst restaurant management experience I’ve ever witnessed, and I’ve worked in the service industry for 10 years. We frequent this area every year but we will never be returning to this Carrabba’s location. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because our server and the server assistant who helped us out...
