Yellowhammer Coffee — Restaurant in Mobile

Firstly, I absolutely have to say this is my favorite place in all of Downtown Mobile. The people here are ALWAYS smiling and make you feel like you are somebody when you walk through the door and I can’t think of anywhere else that gives that kind of service anymore. Each person is an absolute gem and no matter what kind of day I am having, they will always lift my spirits!

They recently added MATCHA to the menu and I was so excited so I opted to try the Vanilla Matcha Latte this morning and it was absolutely delicious. I will probably get it half sweet next time , but that’s a usual thing for me to ask for because I don’t drink very sweet drinks.

Some of my fav coffee flavors are the Butter Pecan or Hazelnut. I also love the hot Chai Tea Latte and London Fog. The blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese is absolutely fire and so is the Asiago Sausage Egg and Cheese bagel! You really can’t go wrong with anything here! My oldest daughter loves getting to stop here for breakfast when it’s a work with mom day and she of course gets some sort of Frappe lol. My bosses dog loves walking down from the office for a Pup Cup. Orders are consistently great, service is 20/10, location is walkable, and it’s a local business. I really can’t say enough great things about this place.. even if I do spend wayyyyyy too much money here 😅 (because I’m irresponsible, not because of their pricing 😂)

I had a poor experience at this Yellowhammer location last Saturday. The blonde lady who was servicing the drive thru had a bit of an attitude. I’m not a local, so this was the first time I had ever been to a Yellowhammer coffee shop and I was pretty excited to visit. One of my favorite things to do whenever I visit a city is to try out local coffee shops.

That being said, because it was my first time there, I was a little bit flustered while ordering and I mistakenly said the name wrong about one of the coffee drink options. The lady was not polite and essentially mocked me for saying the name of the drink wrong. She made me feel like an idiot for stating the wrong name. Kindly correcting me is one thing, mocking me is unacceptable.

My boyfriend and I were not happy for the service that we received. We ended up asking for a refund back for our order. The guy at the window was very apologetic and kind about the issue. For that, I give the rating 2 stars for his excellent service. However, I don’t plan on coming back to this particular location the next time...

My fiance and I took a trip to Mobile for her birthday getaway and Yellowhammer Coffee quickly became one of our favorite spots to visit while on our trip. Not only was the staff cordial, friendly and helpful, but also, we were overwhelmingly satisfied with both the price and quality of our orders on each occasion. We didn't opt to try any of their food items, however, of the drinks, my fiance really enjoyed their local monthly special "The Gabby" and their spin on her usual "white chocolate mocha". Me, being new to the coffee lifestyle, really enjoyed their namesake cold brew. I also had their lemon strawberry smoothie (which is more my speed) and mixed it with their peach strawberry smoothie, and it was perfectly sweet; just lemon/peach-y enough to not be too much in either direction.
