Can't beat the service, the (usually) great food and decent prices. UPDATE 01.21.2025 Photos of the grilled chicken sandwich which my wife said was delish! Loved the soft, tasty bun, generous size chicken breast as well as more than ample, sliced, avocado. I had (again) the braised beef with gravy on the side. Read below regarding gravy. The beef was moist and full of flavor. A nice size serving of real mashed potatoes below the meat. The carrots were cooked enough to enjoy, with a nice flavor. The broccoli was crisp, colorful and fresh. My only standard complaint is their gravy which, my guess only, is either out of a tube or a glass jar and it tastes like it. Hopefully this is not the case and I am mistaken. The gravy is very salty which usually constitutes that it is concentrate from a jar. Concentrated gravy has massive amounts of sodium or even worse, monosodium glutamate (MSG). UPDATE 11.14.2024 Had the turkey dinner special. The turkey was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed the sweet potato, broccoli with "cheese" topping and cut carrots. The cranberry sauce was nice as well. The gravy was okay (I recommend ordering it on the side) the mash potatoes tasted a bit like boxed that was mixed with real potatoes. Overall the dinner was great and a large serving! Service, as usual, was excellent! UPDATE 4.19.23 2nd mushroom burger was great as was the bun. 1st burger meat was overcooked and moisture "smashed" out of it. Our server was quick to replace and the manager to listen. I ordered the "potato" salad with the burger. I say "potato" as it should be a "sweet relish" salad. There was so much relish that was all I could taste. My wife ordered their lasagna which we've enjoyed in the past and enjoyed again. A large serving with plenty of delicious sauce, and soft garlic bread to boot! The noodles were a bit soft for me however always delicious! Lastly, I haven't ordered wine at Rosie's but note that they offer good wine choices at reasonable prices. Service from Cory was great! Order ice cream with your cake! 2.23.24. Popped in for a quick dinner. Short ribs (chuck roast) were great laid on top of a mound of mashed potatoes and brown gravy. An unexpected side was a dense and cheesy broccoli soufflé $30.00. A nice, large portion. My wife enjoyed her usual lasagna. New, larger wine glasses, for red wine, was noted.

Unfortunately our first time eating at this restaurant was a huge bummer. We called in our order and *upon pickup* my husband was told they actually did not have either of our orders available anymore. He ended up calling me for my order and I told him I’d like the California Club (I originally wanted the pork chops). Mind you my husband is there expecting to pickup our completed, ready to go order. Instead of our order getting rushed at that point, it took 25 minutes for them to get us our new choices and THIS was my “California Club” that took 25 minutes to make. Chicken, melted cheese & avocado. Thankfully we paid with a gift card, but I hate that someone spent their thoughtful money on this gift for us to result in the meal we received. Not saying you shouldn’t eat here, but I am saying we probably won’t ever again. ***EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: I appreciate the fact that they took the time to respond to my initial review. My review was a “heat of the moment” response, and I will add that the soup was wonderful, the chicken wing appetizers were delicious & dessert was fantastic. Unfortunately our main courses (both sandwiches) were still subpar, mine not even being a sandwich offered on the menu (no tomato, no bacon, not the correct bread for a club sandwich). I’d love to find a way to be monetarily compensated for that portion of our large order which is why I still cannot give them 5 stars. However- I know this place is beloved by many, therefore I would recommend anyone reading this to still consider dining at this restaurant. ***EDIT AFTER EMAILING OWNER: The owner sincerely wanted to make it up to us. We are happy with the resolution!

I hate to write this review, as we specifically came here to celebrate our anniversary. We are not from Monterey, so we came here hoping to eat at Rosines. My wife and I absolutely LOVE Rosines for well over 20 years. We ate here for dinner on Friday. Perfect food and good service. We were happy. We paid $70 for 2 people. Then we came on Saturday morning, again great food and wonderful service! Spent $60 for 2. Came again on Saturday night, super crowded, but we waited and was seated within a half hour. Service was great and again dinner was fabulous! Spent $70 for 2. On Sunday morning, we decided to eat here again. SADLY, we were seated and NOT greeted for 15 minutes! Once we asked for someone, our waitress came over BUT was not nice. She rushed us to order as we had questions, she kept looking around, acting like she wasn’t listening! She took our order. About 20 minutes go by and we get our food. I got steak… very rare when i ordered well done. I was okay with it. My wife’s pork chops looked delicious but when she cut them, she noticed blood coming out of the bone part! Ewww! Pork with blood? Wth! We called over the waitress, she looked gave a disgusted look and said she will get a new one. Within 5 minutes she came back saying they RE PLATED the plate and bright back the same food. My wife then got a waiter who said he was the manager. This guy was RUDE! He looked at the plate and said “oh no that’s not blood, he started talking very scientific about how Rosines drains their meat and that is not blood. They would never serve meat with blood. We were dumbfounded! My wife explained she didn’t trust it wasn’t blood, saying she didn’t want to get sick. So this “manager” gets louder and laughed it off that she will not get sick with the blood. My wife of course told him not to be condescending and have some sympathy to fix the situation as tears canes to her face from embarrassment from that “manager” talking LOUD AND RUDE! He left her to “think” about what she wants to do??? He completely RUINED our last day of our anniversary. Finally I went up to him to explain all she wanted was a new plate with well done pork chops and eggs. We didn’t need to be ridiculed! He came to get the plate and brought a new one, but NEVER apologized for his arrogance and “I’m better than you” attitude. At the end of our meal, our not caring waitress dropped off the check saying “ my boss took the pork chops off, so you don’t have to pay for them! JUST RUDE! As we stood up to go pay, she stopped us and said, Where are you going? I explained we are going to the front to pay and by cookies. She said oh no I will take your payment on here, a device she was holding! Out of all the many times we were there, NO ONE ever asked us to pay on that device! Wth??? Was she profiling us that we were leaving without paying??? Thanks for RUINING our good experience with one bad one! Very disappointing. At this point not sure we can forget it! Let’s see if anyone besides that RUDE SO CALLED MANAGER will care??

I ordered a cake here on a Wednesday to pick up on Saturday morning for a birthday. I called back later in the day on Wednesday to change my pick up date to Friday afternoon and was told it wouldn't be a problem. I showed up Friday afternoon to pick up the cake and was told that they were still working on my order so I sat down to wait. A few minutes later another employee asked me what I was waiting for so I explained again and after some investigating on their part they told me my order wasn't even made because they still had the pick up date for Saturday and the person I spoke to on the phone on Wednesday had never changed the pick up date. I was frustrated but agreed to come back Saturday to pick up the cake. When we came back Saturday afternoon to pick up the cake we were again told they were just finishing up on our order. We waited a few minutes just to be told that they actually never had an order put in under my name. We had told explain we placed the order on Wednesday and after more investigation they were suddenly able to produce "our" cake. When we placed the order they asked if we wanted anything written on the cake and I asked for 'Happy Birthday "name"' to be written on the cake and when they handed the cake over a sloppy Happy Birthday was written without including the name. When pointed out to the person assisting us he said that they had run out of room to write the name but they threw in "free" chocolate shavings. We were charged $65 for the Chocolate Chocolate cake and they did not write what we asked for or have it ready when they told us it could be done. I would not order from their bakery again, especially for something that is time sensitive. Overall a frustrating experience and staff kept trying to shift the blame to us

So this place really really deserves 5 stars for the food alone but I had to give it 4 because of the hostess (Addison). My cousin and her 5 year old daughter and myself came in and there was no rush or anything and the look that this hostess gave my cousins daughter was pure disgust. She genuinely made us feel like “ugh you brought a child in here?”. She didn’t acknowledge us at all with a hello, a head nod, a how are you, or a follow me this way at all! We felt extremely unwelcome but we were starving so we continued with the visit. The food was impeccable! Chefs kiss!! For appetizers we had loaded potato skins and they were very tasty! I got the honey crisp salad and it was fully loaded with so much freshness! Such a huge portion! So good! My cousin got the blackened salmon burger with sweet potato fries and the crisp on the fries was AMAZING. The salmon was so melt in your mouth and paired really really well the sauce they slather the bun with! She’s pregnant and the portions were so huge she couldn’t finish but definitely took the rest home. Her daughter got the Mickey Mouse pancakes and she loved it. The atmosphere was so festive I felt like in Christmas movie fancy restaurant. As the visit went on our waitress Katie was amazing!! She was so attentive and friendly! We loved her. She deserves a raise! I will be back for the food for sure, I just hope Addison gets some better training on being the first interaction people get when walking into the establishment. Also for our full 3 meals and 1 appetizer and 1 soft drink and 1 hot coco, the bill was $75. The prices were not too bad at all! 😁
