Warning: I don't enjoy eating seafood in general. Please only read this if you despise seafood as much as me. I like to try new things even though I may not enjoy it. Hope the reviews help.
Food: Clam chowder was okay. Nothing to rave about. The bowl is pretty decent in size. The clam chowder is on the medium to thicker side of chowder. You get a good amount of potatoes and clam in the soup. You get 2 bags of crackers to go with your soup. You can have it in a bread bowl. I opted out on the bread.
Oysters with Chips is just okay. The salmon is better. The portion doesn't look much. I would recommend getting the fish and chips over this. Maybe even order the non fried oyster. Something about fried oyster doesn't quite taste right. Squeezing the lemon over it helps. As well as dipping it in For $16, I expected more.
Salmon was good. You get rice and veggies on the side. The portion looks more than the oyster with chips. Salmon tasted clean and fresh. For $20, it's not a bad deal.
Service: Big parties will have to wait. Smaller groups of 4 or less can be seated quickly. The waitress gave us enough time to look through the menu. Water comes with lemon wedges. The waitress and cashier were nice. Great service. I recommendpaying at the cashier and not wait for the waitress. It's a lot faster.
Ambience: You feel like you are at a local market. There is like 12 dining tables. They are all in different sizes. Not the most comfortable seats, but they will do. 36 people can only be in the building. You can order fish from the market.
Parking: Parking is very limited here. There are street parking,...
Read moreOn the recommendation of friends, we found ourselves at Sea Harvest Restaurant & Fish Market, and what a charmingly unassuming gem it turned out to be!
The decor and ambiance of the place are straightforward and devoid of pretension, offering a simple, no-frills dining experience that is refreshingly genuine. We ordered our meals and chose to sit in the quaint backyard seating area, surrounded by an unobtrusive atmosphere that allowed the food to take center stage.
Speaking of the food - it was delectably noteworthy. Every bite suggested careful preparation and a knowledge of balanced flavors, providing a delightful culinary experience in an unexpected setting.
As we reached the end of our meal, a new appreciation blossomed for the understated nature of Sea Harvest. There was something intrinsically comforting and homely about the place that enhanced the overall dining experience, transforming what at first seemed overly simple into something genuinely appealing.
We left Sea Harvest not only with satisfied palates but also with the realization that sometimes the simplest places can offer the richest experiences. We’ll certainly return and would recommend it to others who find beauty in simplicity coupled with a...
Read moreWe were looking for an informal seafood restaurant and this fit the bill. It's a "paper plate and plastic forks" place with counter service. Nothing fancy. The prices are in line with the rest of the restaurants in the area. They have a few tables inside, which were all occupied when we arrived, but they had plenty of seating available on the patio in the back, which was clean and well kept, lit nicely, and overall a nice place to sit and eat, although a tiny bit chilly on a November evening. The wait after we ordered wasn't bad at all for such a busy evening.
We ordered the kids chicken and chips for our daughter, which she enjoyed. I didn't try the chicken, but the chips were delicious and fresh.
We shared a pint of clam chowder, which was hot, but otherwise just ok.
Husband enjoyed the crab cake special on Caesar salad and I had the grilled garlic and butter prawns over rice and veggies. I felt that the chowder and prawns could have been better seasoned (perhaps I would have preferred the Cajun style), and my veggies, while fresh and well cooked, were cold around the edges by the time I got my plate.
Overall it was a nice place to eat, and I would probably...
