Pretty embarrassing. But I guess when you're drunk all food is good ? Possibly the worst food I've ever had at a bar/restaurant. I ordered the perogis with Pink sauce (1.99 extra) which was around 12 dollars without extra Pink sauce. The perogis were clearly microwaved out of a frozen pack, just floppy white tastless. The sauce tasted like dollar store red sauce with canned veggies thawed out and mixed up and smothered on top. Odd mix, horrible lack of flavor / dollar store flavor. Didn't expect much but at regular pricing it was below sub-par. Pizza we also ordered was run of the mill frozen crust as expected but not nearly as bad as the other dishes. Also ordered bear cheese and pretzels (8 bucks), which was clearly a cheap flavors cheese sauce that was also used in the Mac and cheese we ordered but they added a spice to it to make it different, but the spice seemed to be cinnamon or nutmeg. Odd. The pretzels were hot and tasted good, not at Applebee's level but still good and freshly nuked. No cheese flavor to the Mac n cheese, kind of cinnamony with orange dye. Even Kraft boxed Mac would have been so so so much better. The waitress did smell very bad like unwashed sweat stained clothes, but I get it, it's hot out in NC. She wasn't friendly in the least, I get that too. An basically unknown hole in the wall bar in yuppie Mooresville with atrocious food at sit down italian dining prices. I have heard the wings were good here which we didn't know until after, so maybe we'll have to try those. We left almost all the food in piles as served nearly untouched. Truly some of the worst food I have ever...

Original Visit (2024): I came to Big Al’s and ordered the 10pc Teriyaki wings with a side of seasoned fries, and let me tell you—the food was on point! The wings were fried perfectly, and the teriyaki sauce was immaculate. The fries were crispy and flavorful, not bland like some other spots.
To top it off, I had my go-to drink: a Liquid Marijuana cocktail, and it was strong in the best way. Only $8, and one glass had me feeling it! The bartender/server Dalton was great—super friendly—and the rest of the staff were just as welcoming. I didn’t get any pictures because I was too caught up in the moment, but it was definitely a vibe.
Updated Visit – 6/17/25: I had to come back—and this time, I showed up on karaoke night (looks like it’s on Tuesdays). The energy was amazing, with a fun crowd, great DJ, and solid karaoke performances. It actually reminded me of The House in Durham, NC.
This time I ordered 15 or 16 boneless wings (half BBQ, half mild) with a basket of fries, liquid marijuana, and everything hit the spot. Wings were juicy and flavorful, and the fries were crispy and hot—just the way I like them.
If you’re looking for a late-night spot to chill, grab some food, or even just take out—Big Al’s is a great go-to. Between the food, drinks, music, and friendly service, they’ve got a winning combo. I’ll definitely keep...
Read moreWorst service in years! We literally could not get any service. We were completely ignored by the staff, who were huddled together in a group of five or six behind the bar. I had to actually chase down a waitress to get a menu, and she actually had the nerve to act like it was a bother to talk to a paying customer. We quickly decided what we wanted, but the group continued to huddle behind the bar, except for a single waitress who brought a few drinks to the table next to us, ignored us and my attempts to get her attention, and promptly ran back to the kitchen. I finally went to the bar to try to get the attention of one of the staff who were hanging out and ignoring everyone, except to clear a couple of glasses from the bar every now and then. Even the person who gave me the menu pointedly turned away when I tried to gain her attention. I have never been so insulted and ignored by a staff at any bar or restaurant in my life! Before I left, there was a customer next to where I stood at the bar telling me that he had been waiting for a very long time for his food after he ordered, and was still waiting when we walked out. I used to eat at the Big Al's next to the store that is now Publix many years ago, before I joined the military. The staff was never this rude, lazy, or insolent. I don't think I will ever return unless I hear there is a complete...
