If I could have given no stars I would have. I am not a fan of having to give bad reviews, but having okay-ish edible food is about all they have. First during a slow period (2pm on a weekday) it took forever for our server to notice us, then for our food to come out. When it did my husbands food was cold, not lukewarm, cold. Our daughters sides were equally cold. My fried shell (had a fajita salad)had burnt chip stuck to the bottom, so the fryers were filthy barely after mid day. It took much longer than it should have to get the attention of staff to try to get the situation rectified. My husband is very kind and underatanding, he was a cook in a local steakhouse for years and so we get how things can happen. Our server told us he would -mircowave- it if we wanted it warm... if was an enchilada and rice... what? Of course it should be warm. He tried to pass us off to a manager (who happens to be the owners son according to him... not a trained manager)... Then it came out warm ish food with HOT plates. Our daughters plate was so hot it couldn't be touched without the oven mitt. They didnt bother to replate or give fresh sides. The rice was bone dry after being nuked. My daughter wasnt even able to touch what was on her plate because of the temperature of the plate. The food was barely above room temp. Our server then wouldnt even look in our direction. We felt very disrespected. Our daughters meal was comped since she was unable to eat it, but having been theough all of this and leaving with a hungry 3 year old because her plate burned the adults to touch... unacceptable. Our cups were left empty, the food came with items not listed on menu (heads up for allergy sufferers). Mediocre food, poor service, poor kitchen-front of house coordination, and a waste of time and money. Especially when two 6.99 entrees and two sodas end up in a $22 and change bill... eat...
Read moreThe restaurant was crowded, we were finally seated, we watched as other tables were seated with chps and salsa, we were finally asked if we would like drinks and things by the hostess. Our waitress came to our table finally saw we had drinks and chips and waved her hand said "Oh you been waited on and we literally never saw her again. The hostess waited on us, and her attitude is the only reason this visit achieved as high a rating as it did. We were very disappointed. If you go I hope you have a better experience. The restaurant was overcrowded, and after a considerable wait for seating, we observed other tables receiving complimentary chips and salsa. Eventually, the hostess took our drink order. However, our assigned waitress, after noting our drinks and appetizers, simply waved and stated that we had been served, then disappeared. Consequently, the hostess provided the remainder of our service. Her professionalism and attentiveness were the sole redeeming factors of our visit, which was otherwise deeply disappointing. We sincerely hope future patrons have a more...
Read moreI had the steak fajita, and it was so good that I ended up ordering delivery again!
The food: The steak fajita is packed with flavor thanks to the perfect mix of tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions. Plus, you get to choose between 3 corn or 3 flour tortillas, which is a nice touch. The rice and refried beans are solid. You also get lettuce, pico, and sour cream on the side if you want to mix things up.
The salsa is watery with light chunky texture that I personally enjoy. The horchata is on the sweeter side. Still delicious, but half a cup was enough for me.
The portions: Wow, they are VERY generous! The amount of food I received had me double checking to make sure I got the right order. Check out the pictures and videos for proof.
The pricing: It’s standard pricing (~$15/$16) for fajitas at a Mexican restaurant, but honestly, the portions and quality make it worth it.
Overall, I definitely recommend Toro Mexican Grill. They deliver on flavor, portions, and quality, so it’s worth...
