I checked in online as I was walking into the restaurant at 9:17pm 12/14 where I was greeted by the host. She then took us (a party of two, one of which was a child) to the bar side & sat us behind a wall where no one could see us or vice versa & told us our server would be with us momentarily. A few minutes later the same host came back to get our drink order in which both of us ordered sweet tea when she brought them back to our table she was very rude & short while saying “give us a minute” & walked off. After she left our table we then realized she had given us unsweet tea so we sat there until 9:35pm until I decided to go back up to the host stand & asked the same young lady if someone was going to serve us, she proceeded to tell me that our server had went outside for a minute but she thought she would’ve been back by now, frustrated by this point I then told her “you got us unsweet tea instead of sweet tea is there anyway you could get us sweet tea?”. She followed me back to our table grabbed our glasses & walked off looking very annoyed. When she returned she just sat our glasses down & without saying a word just walks off again. But when we tried our drinks again they were still unsweet tea. After a few more minutes of not having a server come get our order or anyone bothering to check on us at least we decided we was just gonna leave to get better service at McDonald’s (which is very pathetic). As we were walking out at 9:40pm I decided to ask the same host to speak with a manager which I believe I heard her say his name was Matt but I’m not completely positive on that as he did not properly introduce himself. When he walked up to me I asked if he was a manager & he shook his head yeh & asked me what he could help me with, I then told him how I frequently visit this restaurant but how disappointed I was with the whole experience going into detail on everything & all he said to me was sorry about that. I felt like speaking to that manager was a waste of my breath because he offered to do nothing to make this right so I’m writing this review so maybe someone will actually do something about this behavior. I am beyond frustrated & disappointed (because I come to this restaurant a lot). If this is how service will continue I won’t be back because this whole experience has been...
Read moreI’ve wanted to try Cheddars for a while now but never really got around to it. My husband told me it’s similar to BJ’s restaurant as far as their menu offerings so I was definitely intrigued because I love BJ’s.
We ended up trying them for the first time last weekend and the ambiance is actually nicer than I expected. The restaurant gives off fancy vibes, not like Ruth’s Chris fancy but better than a Chilis or Applebees if you get what I mean. We were sat right away which was nice for it being a weekend day. They were too busy.
Our waiter was good. He came around to get our order and check in at the right times. Only thing I’ll add is that we waited quite a while for refills on our drinks. But that was the only negative as far as service.
As for the food. I love the crossiant they serve. Very warm and fresh, and the perfect little appetizer. My sister and her husband got the Wisconsin cheese bites which weren’t too bad. I’m not a huge fan of overly cheesy foods but my husband is so I know he loved them.
For main course I got the New Orleans pasta and my husband got the monte Cristo sandwich. He said he enjoyed his meal, I also tried a bite. Definitely a different type of sandwich compared to your standard idea. My New Orleans pasta wasn’t the best choice, in my opinion. I had asked for extra sauce and good thing I did because it was quite dry without it. Will definitely try something else if we come back!
We also got their carrot cake slice to go and I HIGHLY recommend it for dessert. The cake was nice and moist. Just the right amount of icing layers in between also. I would go back just for their carrot cake alone.
Still a nice restaurant with plenty of options in their menu to...
Read moreMy fiance and I come here weekly and I’ve had nothing but great service. Always bring out the croissants, and food is made great in a timely manner, but due to our most recent experience u don’t see us coming back for a while. Once we got seated by the kind hostess we sat at our table where we then waited about 7-8 minutes for a waiter to actually show up. I think his name was Jacob or Jason, but I could be wrong, all I know is it started with a J and he was a bit of a brawny guy in his 30’s with a man bun. Point is he didn’t even greet himself, took our drink order and then said if we want to order an appetizer that I could “figure out how to use the screen thing,” and refers to the card reader with the screen at the table, already making me wonder why we even have a “waiter.” At this point I’m using a stop watch and 6 minutes later we get our drinks and then he walks off, doesn’t say anything and doesn’t ask if we’re ready to order. Another five minutes go by and I had to flag him down to take our order and he gives us the complimentary croissants after I asked for them. Funny enough, no silverware, I’m not shocked as this guys attention to anything is less than attentive. By the time he takes our order we’d been there for a half hour. Then, someone else brings us our food and I had to ask her for utensils which she kindly did. Not once did the waiter check on us and ask if we needed anything or how the food was, and we both sat there with empty glasses. Everytime I come I tip anywhere between $10-20, but it’s safe to say he received $0, and this was the first time I ever ate out at a restaurant and didn’t tip so thanks for being my first horrible experience as...
