This might be the coolest buffet I've ever been! On my way here, I was awestruck at the size of the restaurant itself. It's like a mansion from the outside. There's plenty of free parking spots all around the building.
There are two lines - the right side entrance is for parties under four; the left side entrance is for larger parties. I see that families like to come here. Adults are $49.99 for dinner. They close at 9 PM. Soft drinks are an additional $3.99 charge per person. I got water, and they were pretty attentive to having it refilled.
As I entered, I immediately noticed the ship that served the food. It was so cool. I saw a family taking pictures in front of it. Then I realized there were two more ships behind it. You get plates from the bottom shelf and self-serve food on the counters. Lines form on either side.
It's a buffet! Y'all can't expect fine dining quality here. The food here is good for a buffet. Having unlimited crab legs is a plus. Fried chicken, fried shrimp, bang bang shrimp, fried oysters, and fried scallops were notable to me. Oh, and also the dinner rolls. I like that the restaurant strategically placed crab legs in all stations to spread out the lines. Then there was a whole dessert section in the back of the restaurant. There were two soft serve dispensers, and they have cones too. The ice cream was actually really good.
At each table, they have a big bowl to throw away crab legs (and other food). This place is huge; there are so many rooms. So naturally there are so many servers. There's just a lot of people walking around. The bathroom is closer to the front by the T-shirt store. I saw an ATM machine there too.
I didn't try other seafood buffets in town (there are so many), but I'm glad I got to visit...
Read moreThe BEST seafood buffet we’ve been to at Myrtle Beach. We went on a Thursday and Friday night for dinner. The buffet is kept pretty clean, and there are gloves at each buffet line for you to wear before handling the serving utensils. Fresh food is put out pretty quickly as soon as the trays are empty too, so the wait is never long. There’s a large variety of food: meats, fish, seafood (clams/mussels/crawfish/shrimp), veggies, fried dishes, and a salad bar. There’s also a dessert area, which consists of mostly cakes, cobblers, puddings, cookies, a self-serve ice cream machine (vanilla and chocolate), and one tray of mixed fruit. I was hoping for more variety with the fruit, but by the time we were done eating we didn’t have too much room for dessert.
It’s $47.99 per person for the unlimited buffet (I’m not sure of the children’s pricing), and that includes the crab legs in addition to the large array of food. The crab legs are delicious; we went back a few times and they were hot every time. There’s a separate buffet cart with a server to serve the crab legs, along with a seafood boil option next to it that’s self-serve. The line can get long, but it moves fairly quickly so you don’t have to wait long.
The servers were very nice. They cleared out our plates and the container in the middle of each table where we discarded our crab leg shells. Our drinks were promptly refilled. Overall the servers were quick and efficient and accommodating.
Overall we had a very pleasant experience. We love the variety of food and the unlimited crab legs. I highly recommend...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into Captain George’s Seafood Restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy — filled with the inviting aroma of fresh seafood and the cheerful energy of families and friends enjoying an unforgettable meal together.
The seafood buffet is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish tastes freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned — from the buttery, melt-in-your-mouth crab legs to the juicy shrimp, tender scallops, and perfectly fried oysters. The selection is vast and beautifully presented, with something for everyone (including non-seafood lovers, who’ll still find plenty of delicious options).
The service is top-notch. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about your dining experience. My drink was never empty, and every interaction felt warm and personal — a rare touch that elevates the entire experience.
I also appreciated how clean and well-organized everything was. The buffet stations were constantly refreshed, and the dining area felt upscale yet relaxed — the perfect balance for an enjoyable meal.
To top it all off, dessert was divine — especially the creamy cheesecake and decadent chocolate mousse.
Whether you’re visiting from out of town or you’re a local looking for a memorable night out, Captain George’s delivers an unforgettable combination of quality, flavor, and Southern hospitality.
Truly one of the best seafood experiences I’ve ever had....
