La Cantina — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

The food was just ok. The bar had no seasoning and was tough (we had chicken, steak and shrimp). The star of the entire evening was the queso. The restaurant does not include salsa with any meal ($1 extra) . Nor do you get chips while you wait. The menu says they have flour tortilla l, they only have corn (even soft). We asked for the fajitas to be cooked without vegetables they forgot. It was cooked with it and had a very strong green pepper flavor & onions still mixed in. When we arrived there were tables before us to over an hour to get our food. Took the table before is the same time. Also while we were waiting a group of about 8 parole came to be seated it was around 920 & were formed away because the wait staff didn't want to wait on a large party. They were told to go to the Tiki but next door. The woman and her family were obviously offended and left not eating at either establishment. (I kind of feel bad for Tiki like they are being associated with the step kid who's in trouble lol) We ate outside the wind blew their umbrellas on top of us and another table. They do charge a 20% gratuity to every meal. It is written on the menu in fine print 🤦‍♀️ I get it now why they must do this. My server tried but she isn't responsible for cooking the food. She the time and cost for mediocre food the poor staff would be left...

Me and my family came in tonight to have dinner, and it was a wonderful experience!!! There were only 2 people working out front, and they looked like they were pretty busy, but both guys in there were on it and giving wonderful service with a smile!!! We had Andy as our server, who we actually found out was also the bartender for the night, and even with being busy with bar guests, us, and other tables, he was on top of it and getting everything we needed before we even knew we needed it!!! The other young man, I believe his name was Jack, was also running around and even stopped to chat when we had a question about the bathroom and was willing to help us as well in any way even though he wasn’t our server!!! These 2 gentlemen alone are worthy of this place having 5 stars, but then we got the food 🤤🤤 we had multiple different appetizers and all had different entrees, and there was not a single complaint from our whole table. Everything came out hot, quickly, and all together and was absolutely delicious! It was so good we even decided we had to leave an extra tip for the kitchen to split!! They do add an automatic 18% gratuity, but we knew that beforehand, so we just added the extra at the end for the wonderful service. Would highly recommend this restaurant...

The waitress/bartender was SUPER FRIENDLY! Just want to make sure that is clear, she made us feel welcomed and held a few conversations with us! The food however and the margarita that I ordered were absolutely not good. I think the sour mix (homemade) was past date. The margarita just tasted like dirty something. We ordered queso and chips, queso was one note, spice! Which I do not mind. But you couldn’t taste anything, no cheese, nothing. And the empanadas (which we were so excited for) were practically in-edible. We ate them, because we paid for them. The dough was like thick masa and the inside was like 2 day old taco meat they stuffed into an empanada. Dry. Even though they come covered in queso, cheese, lettuce and tomato and served with salsa, they were extremely dry! We did not finish any of it. It wasn’t busy by any means.
