I stayed at the Grand Shores Hotel during the first week of April and had breakfast included in my hotel package through Shoreline Café. I chose this option so I wouldn’t have to stress about meals in the morning—but honestly, I regret it.
The breakfast was supposed to be buffet-style, but from Monday to Wednesday, the options were extremely limited and inconsistent. Some days juice was included, other days it wasn’t—and no one could clearly explain why. On top of that, they attempted to add gratuity each day to a buffet meal that was already prepaid. What really upset me was that on the last day, they suddenly posted a sign stating they were now adding 18% gratuity to each meal. That felt unfair and unprofessional, especially after a week of unclear communication.
The only day the breakfast actually felt worth it was Friday—the food was fresh, and the options were better. But if I ever stay at this hotel again, I definitely won’t be purchasing the breakfast add-on. For the price, I could have made something...

I did ask if more French toast was available. Finally around 10:40, about 10 half slices were brought out of which another family snatched up leaving us with 5 left for our family of 4. There was plenty of other choices, but the scrambled eggs are your typical buffet eggs that are free at other places, biscuits and gravy, grits, oatmeal, sausage and bacon. Some fresh fruit options, small continental type breakfast pastries as well. The gravy tasted like maybe it was a mix made with water. Coffee and tea were the only beverages included with the buffet price. So the small apple juice was an additional $3.29. Definitely not worth the money and will not bother with trying dinner. The waitress was trying her best with having had no sleep the night before. Tables and surroundings could use some...
Read moreThe place is disgusting! It stunk, it was dirty and the service was beyond awful. The server mumbled when he spoke, which made it impossible to understand him. He wasn't too happy when we told him we didn't want the breakfast buffet (that he was trying to push on us)and would like to look at a menu. It took him 15 minutes to take our order. He did bring out my coffee, which I took one sip of and could not drink anymore. It tasted like pond water! After waiting another 15 minutes for our breakfast to come out, I started having more and more bad feelings about eating the food here. At that point we were tired of waiting and tired of being ignored by the rude server, so we decided to leave. We will never go there again....
