We ate at the bar end of the restaurant. Our first clue should have been that there was hardly anyone in the restaurant for a July visit. The food was bland and not even fast food quality. Seemed frozen/heated up. As an example, the cheeseburger had a super thin patty, and the rest of it was just not put together very well at all. This wasn't even to the quality of a poor Big Mac.
The cheesesticks came out with a small container of marinara sauce, in a pull top plastic container, in the basket. We noticed a strange taste to the sauce, almost a bit chemical like. It seemed as if the marinara container, with its foil top and plastic container, was heated up with the cheesesticks. It was disgusting.
The service was good. The young lady was attentive and pleasant.
We visit the area quite a bit and have tried this place a few times. Ownership changed over the winter and two things are readily apparent; the quality of food/cooking has significantly declined and the entire bar area vibe is dead. The older gent bar tending has zero personality/engagement. The pool table and dart board were moved out of the bar area. There is just no energy in the place coupled now with really bad food.
It is a real shame as the location is primo and a lot could be done with the opportunity there.
Management just posts the typical " we will try to do better" response, yet nothing seems to change if you read...
Read moreWe hit a bucket of golf balls at the Cane Patch range and worked up an appetite. I looked on Yelp and found the Beachfront which was only a couple of blocks away. It’s located in the Sand Dunes Resort and as the name infers right on the beach. I’m usually hesitant about these hotel restaurants either being too expensive for what you get or an add on, neglected spot to mildly satisfy the guests . . . this was neither. The ocean view was very good and tables were clean. There was a wide variety of menu items sounding delicious. The waiter Bob was friendly and courteous, he took the time to answer any questions. With each of us having diet restrictions we asked if we could modify our selections. Bob did not hesitate to accommodate us and the kitchen followed through. We started with a couple of drinks that were very good. I ordered the Fish Tacos and my girlfriend had the Fish and Chips, both fresh and delicious. The server was as friendly and courteous as the Bob. We were both extremely satisfied with our meals, over the top. I only had one disappointment, they close for the month of January. Just when I found a new place to have an excellent meal overlooking the ocean now I’ll have to wait a...
Read moreWent in this past Wed for the GSHS Spaghetti fundraiser and the meal was very good The server was great. Our real complaint was the alcohol drink that comes inside a real pineapple. It cost over $24 with meal taxes included and the drink was mostly frozen solid with just an icy poor taste and frost was all over the outside of the pineapple. The server was not equipped to handle this matter apparently but we still left her a $15 tip because she was cheerful and responsive during our meal. It's shocking that a drink that costs roughly $24 is not made fresh to order but rather gets pulled out of a freezer. No excuse for that as the resturant and bar were not busy at all. We are Locals that live in the nearby area and will most likely not return after wasting $24 on that terrible cocktail. Noted my displeasure about this matter on two of their recent Facebook posts and never heard a thing from management on either post. I'm a Local Guide for Google Reviews so I know the area very well and this drink was one of the worst we have ever had in...
