---My first review ---Good Service, Great food. Place has improved! our server was new had only worked 3 days, but she was super friendly, and had great table side service skills! Tried the pork sliders, they were great, and they have 3 BBQ sauces on the table for you to try and use. Then I had the Beef brisket and ribs, the brisket is so well prepared, just the right amount of smokey flavor, and a lite sauce, they have great Happy Hour beer specials. We all 3 had the brisket and were all three very happy with it! O and the cornbread was fantastic! yes its sweet like cake but this is deep NC/SC regional foods and our cornbread is sweet, just haw its supposed to be! O and its one of the only places in Myrtle Beach to get red BBQ slaw! Like...
Read moreFirst things first, as a rule of thumb, be weary of food establishments without a line in a busy place like Broadway at the Beach. While my family (party of 3) were seated immediately, it did take a minute for a server to begin helping us. With that said, the service was otherwise solid. The food on the other hand…
My wife ordered pulled pork, my daughter a small personal cheese pizza, and I ordered the hog trough. The hog trough is a little bit of everything (pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, and smoked sausage). For sides, my wife and I got a cup Brunswick stew, Cole slaw, and I got green beens. Additionally, I also ordered 5 honey bbq wings as an appetizer for the family to try out since I had seem them walking in, on another patron’s plate, and they looked pretty good.
Our wings arrived in a timely manner first. It literally looked like five wings had been on a plate and whatever remaining sauce in the bottom of the bottle dumped on top of the wings. There was a ton of generic sauce in the wings. Maybe the wings would’ve been better without sauce but with the sauce they were a step below average. The Brunswick stew arrive next and may have been the best part of meal. While very bland, a little salt and pepper fixed it right up. Main courses where next. To put it in a nut shell, this was the blandest tasting bbq I’ve ever had to date. The pulled pork, my wife and I thought we had gotten chicken. The smoked sausage on my platter was simply out of a package and heated on the skillet. As one previous reviewer wrote, everything tasted like it was prepared in a microwave or something of the sort. To be fair, the brisket did seem smoked. Also, my daughter did enjoy her pizza. The green beans were straight from a can.
While my family never likes to be wasteful, my wife and I ended up leaving 85% of our food on the plate (without taking any home). My daughter did eat most of her pizza. Again, service was solid but the food simply isn’t worth the visit. Hopefully you and your family have a experience, If you decide to...
Read moreMy family and I visited from out of town and it seemed promising with a ~30 minute wait time.
So we get called, get our table, and get our drinks. We don't see anybody for another 30 minutes. Alright, fine. We place our order after we've been there 30 minutes, just to end up waiting another ALMOST 2 HOURS. I believe they forgot about us or the staff was having issues with the manager. We said we were going to leave, and who I assume is the manager walks over, doesn't speak to any one person or apologize, and only says, "Your food is over there it's just waiting on one item. You can pay for your drinks and leave if you want". No apology for the horrible wait and legit being forgotten about, spoke to us very rudely considering that we put in half of our time at the Boardwalk sitting around for this place.
When the food DID come, nothing tasted good and every bit of it was cold. I can't really remember having worse service than that in my 30 years of life, and I've dealt with bad service.
They also ran out of brisket and didn't tell us until we went to order it (which, annoying, but that's not an issue with the waitress we had or anything). Whoever the manager is though? He honestly shouldn't be in a manager position with such awful people skills, rudeness, etc. This is an attraction area that brings in a ton of money, and we still paid a giant bill, even though we had a horrid time. He offered nothing. Not even an apology.
People have bad days but this was a whole different ballpark of "bad". I don't recommend any part of this place, because even the atmosphere itself, once inside, felt stagnant and dull. Everyone in there working seemed very "meh" and it was just an all around awful experience.
Grab food at Carolina Ale House, if nothing else. Our other family members went there when we went here, and their food and service was fantastic. Just an extra recommendation on a place with good food and a good atmosphere since this place was...
