Where do I start? I waited in line for 15 minutes for 3 ice cream cones. When arriving to the window they were still making the cones and when they were handing them to me they kept getting finger prints in them after the 3rd time the manager that just took my money decided to make them instead. She never washed her hands or put gloves on after handling my money. After she made the third cone she proceeded to lick the back of her hand which got ice cream on it while making the cone and in the process of handing it to me she used the collar of her shirt to wipe the sweat off of her brow. After I saw that I was done and asked that she just give me a refund because of the horrible hygiene that she practiced. She proceeded to tell me they don't give refunds. I called Corporate and after a week of waiting the owner finally got in touch with me @9:30 pm. When he called he told me who he was and said what can I do for you? I told him that I'm guessing he read the report and is aware of what happened. He said yes what can I do for you? I said well you could apologize and I would like to be refunded. He said okay you can come get your $3.00 and was just completely unapologetic about the situation. So I told him I will be calling corporate again and he said he doesn't care I can call or jump up and down if I want to. Notice how this DQ only has 5-4* or 1* reviews and none in between. Their ice cream is the most lackluster I've tasted, only beaten by the ice milk from the machine at some casual all you can eat restaurants. The culture here is complete garbage. The biracial black cashier was dazed and confused and an Asian girl was giggling and mocking customers with her fellow white female employees. The manager covers for all employee mistakes instead of changing. Diversity has done this business no favors. As a local, born and raised South Carolinian, this DQ is blatantly discriminatory and passive aggressive. The behavior of the employees was even more ironic when you notice how dirty all the tables were. They don't even do their jobs well. They play and gossip and any work is an afterthought. When we went to the restroom, a young female employee left the kitchen to observe us. You'd think they were guarding merchandise. Washing hands seem to be an alien habit to them and having observed a happy family leaving at the same told me everything I needed to know about the 5*s. If you need a DQ fix, Carolina Forest is a superior location. Sugar Life is also only a block away and has more variety. Just left about 20 minutes ago. Walked in with my dad and instantly was helped. Sweet girl at the register. As we wait we over hear an older man frustrated because they forgot half his order. I thought to myself maybe he’s just a rude person. So didn’t pay him much attention. We get half of our order and my ice cream had yet come out. We wait and wait. Even asked nicely if they forgot. They said no still working on it. I’m a server so I understood they were getting busy it’s taking a minute. I got it and noticed it didn’t look like it normally does but tastes the same. My dad brought it to their attention it didn’t look right. The girl that made it said she followed the instructions and my dad nicely said well hey if it tastes the same it’s cool. We go to leave and I notice the girl rolled her eyes. I then said could I see a manager since we got young girls rolling their eyes at my father. He then turns around and just lets the young girl know it’s disrespect to be rolling her eyes to guest that she won’t make it far in life if she acts like that to everyone. She’s just proceeding to laugh in his face. As his daughter I get very aggravated but at this point I’m ready to go. The girl that took our order seemed to be the only one with the best personality.
