Arnold's is the epitome of the mom and pop meat and three. Cafeteria style straight forward menu that rotates by day. I desperately wanted to get a picture of the menu on the wall, but Arnold's was so busy there was never an opportunity without people standing in front of it to get in the line of delicious food that awaits. The working class who want to taste food from home; made with love and care that mom and grandma would put in their food, and Arnold's sure delivers that exact food. The food that ignites an instant memory just from smell and taste alone, and when food transports us like that we want more of it, and once again Arnold's delivers. The; I'm assuming owners came by and spent time making sure we were enjoying everything, and making sure we had everything we needed, and wanted to genuinely know that we were enjoying our food, and our visit, all while he was holding a stack of trays, after cleaning up tables and consolidating and restocking and who knows what else. Knows his regulars by name, and everyone knows everyone kind of feel, and I appreciate that.. I hope that never dies. Arnold's is just one of the living legends, and a testament of how everyone should be. My lady friend and I had different plates. She had veggies - greens (which were canned) 🤷🏼♂️, fried green tomatoes that are addictively good, fried apples, a cauliflower casserole that was just like home. I had the country ribs, which were just like home, and squash casserole that had sugar in it, which makes it addictive, and fried green tomatoes. The food may have MSG because I crashed hard immediately after, and slept for three hours for no reason... 🤷🏼♂️ So.. I don't know this, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's just good eating. Food is delicious tho... 🤷🏼♂️ 🤔 I ate every drop of everything. Remember these prices are fair. It is expensive to operate a restaurant on the cheapest quality foods, and it's apparent to me that Arnold's uses quality foods where they can. I; personally, wish the greens were fresh because they're a nickel a bushel at wholesale, and easy as it gets to cook, and are chalked full of nutrients when prepared properly, but whatever... Arnold's; to me, is a place I would feel comfortable eating everyday. That's a fact, and this feels like a community I could certainly get behind and be honored to be a part of, and I appreciate them allowing us into their world for an afternoon. I had a great time eating at Arnold's, and I look forward to seeing them again when I'm...
Read moreWe heard great things about this place and thought we would try it out while we were in town. It turns out all the rumors are absolutely true!
This is a definite go-to location for some Southern comfort cooking! The restaurant is laid out in cafeteria style. Hop in line and grab whatever looks appetizing to you along the way! This restaurant is centered around the "meat and three" concept. Having said that, you can always get more than three vegetables with your main meat dish.
There is usually a line here, but I noticed that it moves quite fast. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and certainly make you feel welcome.
The menu changes every day, which affords the opportunity to show up to the restaurant on multiple days– even on the same day – and have something different each time. When we were there, we tried the fried fish and slow-cooked ribs. WOW! What a great meal! 👍 And because I could not choose only three vegetables to go with the ribs, I ended up choosing four and loved each of them!
Oh, and don't leave without having dessert! Their homemade strawberry and peach pies were so good! I'm sure there are other desserts that are just as good, but these are the two that we got and they were awesome!
Overall, for the friendliness and tastiness of the food, I highly recommend that if you are in Nashville and want to experience confort food that tastes great in a fun atmosphere, this is your...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Arnold's Country Kitchen AGAIN, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience every time. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance. The highlight of my meal was definitely the roast beef. It was cooked to perfection, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The tender slices of beef were perfected.
Another standout dish was the Brussels sprouts and fried green tomatoes. Now, I must admit that I used to be skeptical about Brussels sprouts, but Arnold's Country Kitchen has completely changed my perception. The Brussels sprouts were cooked just right, maintaining a nice crunch while still being tender. They were seasoned perfectly, with a hint of sweetness that complemented the natural earthiness of the vegetable.
The quality of the food at Arnold's Country Kitchen is truly outstanding. The flavors are bold and delicious, and the attention to detail in the preparation is evident. The staff members are friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is top-notch.
I highly recommend Arnold's Country Kitchen to anyone looking for a delightful meal. Whether you're a fan of roast beef or want to try their amazing Brussels sprouts, you won't be disappointed. This is definitely a five-star establishment that deserves all the praise it receives and treated better by Metro Nashville Government! Protect our...
