Staff should have been kind about demanding a passport in addition to a driver's license from an old Mom on a Tuesday night to see an 18+ show at 7:30pm. The screw you attitude was absolutely shocking. I was treated like a 16 year old busted with a stolen ID at a 21+ event. Despite that, my middle-aged self returned with my new passport as instructed.
What the hell kind of way is that to treat your adult patrons with adult incomes on a weeknight as your market share shrinks by the day? Stop the snark and eye rolls.
Not only that, but I met a lovely underaged girl on the smoking patio who explained how she got herself on the guest list and was never asked to show ID at the door. How did I meet this beautiful young girl? In the middle-aged mom crew I was hanging out with, one of us used to be her babysitter. Pretty cool huh! It was a reunion of children and elders, all drinking together under the same roof. She wasn't old enough to buy cigarettes - so I gave her some of MINE!
There are a myriad of venues in town. If you're grown and you're ready to spend money at the bar, this isn't the place.
They don't consistently card children, but watch out old ladies, they'll make sure to lay down the law on you.
I don't buy the compliance defense. Review your...
Read moreThis was my first time attending an event at Cannery Hall, and overall, it was an amazing experience! The venue itself is fantastic—great acoustics, well-organized, and a solid selection of bar items. I also appreciated that they offered free water in a glass as an alternative to purchasing bottled water, which was a nice touch.
That being said, the entry process was confusing. We arrived early and initially lined up at the front door, but a staff member (who seemed inexperienced) directed us off the property to wait on the other side of the parking lot fence by the main road. It was poorly explained, and honestly, having attendees stand near a busy street felt unsafe and unnecessary. However, a helpful tip for future visitors—if you wait outside the fence, you actually get to enter before those waiting in their cars. Some clear signage and better-trained staff would go a long way in improving the check-in process.
Aside from that hiccup, the rest of the night was phenomenal. The EP Release Party event was a blast, the staff (minus the one misinformed individual) were excellent, and the atmosphere was top-notch. I’d absolutely return for another show—just with a better understanding of the...
Read moreStarted off great, ended very poorly. We went to see Dirty Loops and the band was phenomenal. The room was packed with lots of music industry friends and we all had a blast watching these musicians we all look up to. At the end of the show the band invited everyone to the merch table, I was stopped my several industry friends on my way back to that area so it was very crowded by the time we arrived. Security told us to get to the back of the line we would need to exit the building and go around to the front doors because the end of the merch line was there. We exited and went around as directed but once we arrived we were told no re-entry and we were denied going to the merch table as well as meeting the band I waited a decade to see back in Nashville. The security person at the front door was very rude and aggressive, and the security team as a whole was clearly not on the same page. Way to ruin a great show and an experience I waited a decade for. I recommend bands book shows at other venues until the security issues are worked out. Who knows how much money the band lost because of this epic and...
