The reviews about the chips were correct. Those were good. The rest... We are staying in a hotel near the restaurant and it being Friday night wanted to have a nice dinner somewhere. Surprisingly so did many other people in Nashville so we couldn’t get reservations anywhere and didn’t want to wait an hour plus to walk in somewhere. This place was right down the street and had good reviews, so we said why not. Again, EVERY other restaurant we tried was booked. And we tried several. When we got here the staff out numbered the patrons by at least two to one. And there might have been eight people “working” there. We were seated promptly in an empty finding room. Chips and salsa came out, and they were good. Nothing special but very edible. Started looking at the drink menu and all the prices were blacked out with magic marker. I saw why when the bill arrived. But I’ll get to that. We asked what the deal was with the drinks, and he said no deal on Friday or Saturday (we saw in another review that it was buy one get one free all the time, not the case anymore I guess). But since the prices were blacked out we didn’t even know if these were options. We both got medium margaritas, one flavored and one house. They were big. No complaints on the size. Ordered food. She got two tacos and two enchiladas off the ala carte menu. I got the chili rellanos with chicken. Food showed up quick, but since not many people there why not. Tacos were good. Enchiladas not great. My chili rellanos was clearly fresh from the microwave and covered to the hills in cheese. Wrinkly cheap microwaved cheese. The chicken was rubbery, luckily there wasn’t much of it. Never tried the peppers because I couldn’t get them to come apart. We left quite a bit of uneaten food. Asked if we wanted a box and I was clear that that wasn’t going to be an option. Overall not impressed. Service was good enough. But the entire time we had our food it felt like we were being watched to see what our reaction to it was going to be. Bill was $57 for two margs, four things off the ala carte and my $13 chili whatnot. Margs were $13 and $14 respectively. I see why people aren’t knocking down the door to get into this place. Would...
Read moreIf I had an option to give this place ZERO stars, I would have!! One of the top 5 Mexican restaurants in Nashville? There must not be any good Mexican restaurants there then. We walked in and 3 employees ignored us. We walked to the bar and sat down, and the bartender ignored us also. Eventually we were seated and ordered drinks. My margarita was awful, I didn't even taste any tequila. My wife's drink wasn't drinkable and she requested a different drink. That drink never arrived, so we had to tell the waitress to take it off of our bill. We also ordered water with lemon, and they came without lemons, so we had to ask again. We finished the chips and salsa, which was the best part of the meal. We asked for more of both, but the waitress never brought it. Finally the food arrived, and it was just, meh. It was just okay tasting and came in very small portions. The service was terrible, the drinks were worse, and the food was just okay. This was my first time eating there, and it will also be my LAST!! EDIT - No reply from either management or corporate. This tells me they don't give a damn about...
Read moreI have no idea how this place has a 4.6 rating. Food was trash. No flavor at all. Nothing is fresh made. Birria tacos were premium trash. You can't tell me that you slow roasted the beef in that consume. Well it actually might be possible due to the lack of flavor, seasoning & depth. I'm pretty sure it's the Campbell's consume diluted with water, absolutely no flavor. The al pastor tacos were so damn dry. Queso definitely came out of a can or something. Nasty, salty and a weird texture. Even the damn salsa and refried beans clearly came from somebody's can. If you're going to use canned food at least make it taste good, finesse it or something. I haven't had food this terrible in a long time. I would ask for my money back but please use it as a donation towards getting better quality ingredients. The only good thing was the grilled pineapple ring that came with the...
