I'm highly disappointed in our experience! Both my boyfriend and I have been to STK prior. He's been to the Chicago location, and I had been to the Nashville location with a girl friend. We had reservations this past Saturday to celebrate Valentine's Day early. We arrived at 7pm and were sat shortly after arriving and checking in. A few minutes after being sat, we were greeted by one of the female managers (I forgot her name, but she was sweet). After a few minutes our server Jack greeted us, asked if we were planning to drink something other than water, took our drink order, then proceeded to tell us unless we wanted to wait forever for our food, we need to get our order in asap because he had several other tables. By the time Jack brought our drinks (I ordered the Watermelon Smash. My boyfriend ordered an Old Fashion), we had selected our dinner order. I ordered the Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass. My boyfriend ordered the Dry-aged Porterhouse, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the Brussel Sprouts.
An older couple was sat to the right of us shortly after we were sat and also had Jack as a server, then there was a table with 3 older couples sitting directly to our left that were already seated when we arrived. The couple to our right were immediately brought bread, while we waited quite a while to get bread. While we waited for our food, Jack consistently made conversation with the couples to our left, refilled their water glasses, refilled their wine glasses, and constantly checked in with them. Our food finally arrives, brought to our table by another server (pretty common), meanwhile my boyfriends water glass remained empty, Jack never checked to make sure we were good, received everything, or did not need anything. Another server refills our water glasses while we begin eating. My boyfriend's steak was good but barely hot, the Brussels had great flavor but were mushy and barely warm, the Lobster mac and cheese was like the store brand Velveeta Mac and cheese that had dried out while cooking then sat in b the window too long before being brought out, and my Sea Bass was just okay and nothing like what I had the first time I visited STK. The first time I had it, it was over a bed of sauce with beautiful ingredients, while this time, my Sea Bass was slightly burnt and just sadly laying in a dry bowl with the other ingredients.
Although we weren't thrilled we spent $350 on a mediocre, barely warm meal, the food wasn't the absolute deal breaker for us, it was the poor service we received from our server the entire visit. While he gave LOTS of attention to the tables to our left and right (both seated with much older guest), we received lack luster service the entire visit and made to feel less important than our servers other tables. At no point during our meal were we asked if we would like another alcoholic drink. At no point were we asked if we needed anything. And at no point were we given even half the great service the two other tables were given. So although we would have had another drink or two each, and probably dessert, Jack's lack of interest in serving us made the decision for us. We were brought our bill, told have a good night and that was it. Such a different experience than we had previously had and not the experience we were hoping to have on our night out to celebrate. With the abundance of great food and service in Nashville at comparable prices, I would not...

I ended up dining here again, reluctantly, for a business dinner—and I honestly don’t even know what’s going on at this place anymore. STK feels like it’s in the middle of an identity crisis.
They charge high-end steakhouse prices but present everything like a budget pop-up. The menus are meant for one-time use but are clearly being reused—flimsy, wrinkled sheets of paper that look like they were printed at home, complete with fresh water rings and smudges. For a restaurant trying to brand itself as any type of upscale, it’s honestly shocking.
Then, halfway through dinner, a DJ showed up, stopped the background music, and started blasting random songs that made absolutely no sense for a dinner setting. My entire table was confused.
It only got stranger from there. Without warning, the lights went off, someone shouted something about a “shot show,” and staff started rushing around the dark restaurant with trays of shots and giant sparklers like it was a nightclub. The music was turned up to an uncomfortable level for the rest of the evening. It was chaotic, unprofessional, and incredibly awkward—especially for a business dinner.
When I asked to speak with a manager, the woman who came over was dismissive and visibly irritated, as if speaking to a guest was an inconvenience. It was rude, unprofessional, and a far cry from the genuine hospitality I experienced on my first visit.
And if the experience inside wasn’t disappointing enough, the frustration continues outside. STK doesn’t validate parking—not even when guests spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars. The parking garage is literally attached to the building, yet you’re still on your own for the full parking fee. To make matters worse, they don’t offer valet service either, making them the only restaurant in The Gulch that provides neither option. It’s just another example of how disconnected this place is from what a true high-end dining experience should offer.
It’s honestly sad, because my first experience—while the food wasn’t great—was redeemed by the genuine hospitality delivered by Ashley- But unsurprisingly, i was informed she no longer works there. And without her, STK Nashville has lost the one thing it had going for it: real hospitality and professionalism.
This place is overpriced, confused about what it wants to be, and trying way too hard to seem “trendy.” It’s embarrassing to bring guests here, and I won’t be making that mistake again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW This was my first experience at STK, and unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. My meal arrived bland and cold, which was disappointing but not entirely surprising based on what I’d heard beforehand.
That said, the service was excellent. After I mentioned the issue, I was greeted by Ashley, one of the managers, who was an absolute delight. She was kind, apologetic, and quick to make things right so that I could still enjoy dinner with the rest of my party.
Even though the food was underwhelming, the staff—especially Ashley—showed genuine hospitality and professionalism, which really made...
Read moreHi! I would love to offer our feedback as we were actually incredibly disappointed in the service we received. I’ve worked in hospitality for years and completely understand handling large parties can be difficult. However we booked a reservation a few weeks in advance, so there was plenty of time to prepare. After we were seated, it took about 20 minutes for a server to come and fill our water glasses. It then took him maybe 20 more minutes to actually fill all of the water glasses as he had to keep refilling the water jug over and over instead of having multiple prepared. Throughout the night we had to ask for water refills multiple times because no server came in to offer more at any point (until after we complained to management). Then we ordered cocktails, maybe 35 minutes after we were sat. The cocktails were another disaster as they served half the table drinks, and completely forgot about the other half of the table. So half of us had cocktails, and the other half of us had to wait another 20 minutes for their round to come out. Our waiter finally came to take our orders, after I had to ask him to please come around because it had been 1.5 hours since we were sat at that point and we were beginning to become very hungry. The appetizers were put down with no plates, so we had to eat our shareables off of our dirty and very small bread plates. Then in the middle of our appetizer’s, the entrees came out. The table was an utter disaster because at no point was anything cleared off. We still had wine glasses (empty wine glasses, no one ordered wine besides 1 person), dirty bread plates, empty drinks, dirty silverware, and all of our appetizers out. Multiple steaks were served without the toppings that were ordered with them. There were cuts of steak that were not ordered being served, we were missing a pasta entree for probably 20 minutes after everyone else was served their meal. I will say the staff was very kind and they comped us a round of drinks after we had voiced our concerns. However, if you are going to book large private parties your establishment needs to do better with preparation and making sure things run smoothly. This was a gift to the bride we were celebrating this weekend and it was extremely disappointing to say the least, I truly wish we took her somewhere else. Mind you we had a private table and spent over 2k on a ShopRite rib eye. When speaking to the manager Joey I was the one that voiced my concerns, when he came back he went to my friend that is the nicest girl to tell her they covered the first round of drinks, one that is absolutely not good enough, two he should have spoken to me since I was the one speaking for the party, three when I did speak to him he didn’t even try and get on my level and stood over me which was very disrespectful now looking back I should have stood up but I just didnt expect such unprofessionalism. Overall nothing but bad things to say about the place but I will say most of the serving staff was nothing but...
