First timer and I had a gift certificate from last Christmas and it’s Christmas time again🌲 . So it’s a good time to use it. “Key” (Keira), was the second person we came in contact with here. She is a SUPER HOSTESS! First class lady. And I don’t want to forget Linde who answered my emails speedily and made our reservation. I met her via email. Then I met Matthew, a famous Bartender who takes pride in being a mixologist. We also met the Manager of the evening, “Jana”. She’s very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed for 2 shows. The first one was Christmassing: New Classics for the Old Soul feat. LaLa Deaton & Blue Champagne . And the second show was Regi Wooten and friends. The ambience reminds me of a speak easy bar room. Dim lighted room and romantic I’d you are, or on a date. :-). Our server is Trey and John. Trey is personable, friendly and honest. ( I say that because I asked what would he suggest for dinner.). Thanks Trey! John forgot that we had ordered a drink and remembered later in the show. We had the fried pickles, Gumbo, and, po’ boy shrimp sandwich and side salad. Fried pickles was a plentifully serving for 2 people. I got a bowl of Gumbo. I disappointed because I was looking for the andouille sausage, shrimp, and, chicken. Mostly soup with 2 scoops of rice. Well It got left out of my bowl :-( My husband had a shrimp Po’ Boy . He was disappointed because he said that he got maybe 4-5,shrimp and his sandwich was mostly bread. Not like the Po’ Boy sandwiches that we have in Nola. I will say that the salad was good. I wouldn’t order food off the menu again because I was expecting to get more for my money. It’s not cheap! It’s not expensive neither but you would think you would get More for your money. Overall I gave it 3 stars because the food was subpar, and the drinks are pricey. The bathrooms were clean and personally it could use a facelift. The chairs are worn and tattered tables are very very small inside. Maybe enough for one person to eat on, but that’s what you would expect in...
Read moreTonight was date night! Exciting because we just haven't done many of these lately (thanks, covid) and it felt so special. My husband is great at picking places and activities and he chose Rudy's. I loved this place from the get go! We didn't really know what to expect, so I reserved tix online for a table for two. It was a random Thursday but in this new, hoppin' Nashville better safe than sorry. Glad I did, since all the tables were taken this night. There was other seating, like plush chairs, the bar, and some hard chair row seating...truly not a bad seat in the house but if you plan to eat, might want a table. The interior is dimly lit and hazy, replicating a smoky jazz dive but sans cigarette smoke (whew). There was one heroic server and a single Herculean bartender for all the patrons, but they managed so well. The place is small enough, cozy and quaint, to just manage it. The drinks were amazing, especially the espresso martini! The food tasted like legit creole, and beniets the perfect meal ending. My only regret is not ordering the seafood pies. My god, they looked divine! Next time! Finally, the music was so great. The band was engaging, the leader funny and clever. The talent unmistakable. Just a really perfect evening all around Can't...
Read moreI discovered this venue online from a Google search and planned to take my fiancé to dinner this past Saturday (2/16) as a weekend Valentines Day celebration. I followed the online instructions on Thursday (2/14) regarding how to make reservations and as stated on the website I was to receive a phone call or an email informing me if the reservation request was approved. More than 48 hours passed and I never received any notification stating that my reservation was approved or denied. I decided to take my fiancé to brunch this morning and I was utterly disappointed in this venue. The service was horrible, the food was not appetizing and it was grossly overpriced. Brunch was priced at $20 and all that was offered was scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, croissants, rice and lemon tilapia. The only thing we enjoyed was the jazz band that was on set for brunch. I would not recommend this restaurant at all and I will not be returning to this venue to spend my money ever again. It was a total disappointment and I can’t even begin to express how upset I am. If you want to enjoy a brunch that’s worth your money and that’s also appetizing I’d suggest visiting Sinema in Nashville. Rudy’s Jazz Room clearly does not believe in customer service and their...
