Worst service/server ever!!!!
XIU LIN was our server. I came to eat here with my fiancé today. What a mistake.
Here is a list of things that are messed up about this place:
We sat ourselves after standing confused for a couple of minutes.
No one asked us what we wanted to drink and water was automatically brought to our table without asking us what we would like to drink.
Our server (XIU LIN) came to pick up our menus and the paper menu that my fiancé used to mark the rolls he wanted. There was no interaction/communication between her and us whatsoever.
4, 5, 6, and 7 (My fiancé is working on gaining weight while I'm working on losing weight) My fiancé got the AYCE option while I wanted to choose my own small meal. After having to stop my serving from walking away without asking me what I wanted. I let her know that I'm not getting the AYCE and I still had not placed my order while she was taking the menus away. She then repeats SEVERAL times that I can not TOUCH or SHARE with fiancé since I was ordering separately and he was getting AYCE. I told her thats fine I wasn't planning on it. She then proceeds to repeat AGAIN SEVERAL times if my fiancé was going to finish his food and if that was enough food for me. (Keep in mind my fiancé is trying to gain while I am trying to lose, also what is it her business how much we plan to eat.. it's not like we are eating for free or on her tab???)
XIU (our server) dropped my food and then pointed out way too many times that it was my food (as if I did not know what I had ordered).
When dropping off my fiancé's food she pointed out another hundred times that it was his food only and I couldn't touch it and if I did or if he did not finish it all he would be charged extra.
this is the one that bothered me most. SHE STARED AT US WHILE WE WERE EATING THE WHOLEEEE TIME !!!!
It took her 30 mins to get us the check after I told her we were in a hurry to leave (I did not want to stay any longer because she was staring at us and was very rude and frankly EXTREMELY ANNOYING!)
They charge everyone a service charge of 18% above the price of food and the tax.
Not even mentioning that the rice that was in our sushi was not cooked properly.
IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE AND FOOD THEN DONT COME HERE. IF YOU WANT HORRIBLE SERVICE, SOMEONE TO STARE AT YOU WHILE EATING, EXTRA CHARGES, AND RAW FOOD SUSHI 88 IS THE...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Quality of food was not what I ordered and I received HORRIBLE customer service. I paid $39.00 for 2 rolls and tipped the cashier $1.00 but there was a miscommunication when I specified I wanted fully cooked fish. The two rolls came out wrong with raw fish and I returned. She refused to fix the issue and yelled at me saying “its not my problem” and yelled at me to “go away.” I had even left her a tip and they took back the 2 rolls, yet I was still denied a refund! I had no food after spending $40! She told me that the manager is very busy and would be here an hour and half later. So I waited and came back and returned with my receipt and the assistant manager admitted that yes there was a miscommunication and offered to cook the fish. But as you can understand at this point after being yelled and denied resolution entirely I no longer wished to patron this establishment. I asked him for a refund. He got defensive and said that he wasn’t there so he didn’t know if she really yelled at me. Yet he admitted she didn’t understand trying to fix the issue, AND ADMITTED that they took the food back. I told him it was terrible customer service and I never received my goods and they still took my money. It was theft! I have nothing, no food just wasted hours and was yelled at and disrespected. I deserved a refund for how I treated and especially since I never even received any food.He refused to give me a refund. Even going far enough to lie and say that all sales were final. No where at the restaurant was there a sign or clear printed on the menu where it says all sales are final. Realistically you can’t have a sale when I never even received my purchase?! Like they took back the sushi! He also lied stating that it said on their menu no refund. No where on there walls, signs or menu does it state that there are no refund! I have never heard of a restaurant denying refunds, especially if you never received your food! Worst experience ever. I filed a fraudulent dispute with my bank. They...
Read moreWent here for the lunch all-you-can-eat on a Tuesday. This was clearly not a busy hour as they were a little understaffed, and only 2 other groups of people were here. I came alone and was seated at the bar. Maybe that was the reason, but the servers seemed to give the whole "get me in and get me out quickly" vibe that made everything feel rushed.
Price for lunch was $17, but if you're a student you get a 15% discount (not sure how long this will last), making this a good place to go with friends if you aren't in a rush.
The food was good, the sushi more so than the cooked kitchen items. Unfortunately the lunch selection is much more limited than the dinner selection (e.g. no tuna), but I had a good spread of things from their selection and wasn't disappointed. Regrettably, sashimi was not available for lunch. Their sushi is solid, and even for all-you-can-eat, there is a good amount of fish in rolls and nigiri. As this is all-you-can-eat, you fill out a sheet with the items you want, and they'll deliver you a plate of all your sushi and other bits and pieces. This can take a bit longer, but you'll know all of your sushi was made to order and hasn't been sitting out. Leftover food is discouraged, and you'll be charged extra if there's any left over.
The atmosphere is pretty cookie-cutter in step all the new "hip" restaurants in the area: lower lighting, a few tv screens tuned to sports channels, knickknacks around the walls, patio seating, pop music coming from hidden speakers, exposed ductwork in the ceiling... Typical of most new non-chain restaurants I've seen in Nashville. Not bad, but not...
