Ok so boom, the address was a bit misleading cuz it takes you the the complete opposite end of the building. After calling to figure out where it was, the waiter stood outside for us to make sure we found it.
The moment we walked in I knew this wasn’t just any ole Thai spot, they are an upscale Thai cuisine establishment, VERY DIFFERENT if you just want a regular Thai dish though they do serve them, it’s in the experience and the plating and everything.
We were treated amazingly! The waiter suggested dishes and we got all the traditional thai cuisines to gauge how authentic it was. They passed the test!
Everything was wonderful from the crab Rangoon and Spicy Drunken Noodle to the Tom Yum soup and Fried Rice. Two of us are avid google reviewers and we all forgot to get pictures, that’s how good it was.
Now, I was VERY underwhelmed with their wine selections. It’s almost as if the wine menu and food menu were created at separate time with noooo thought, rhyme, or reason. And they didn’t have a single red outside the US. We would’ve gotten a bottle with our meal but nothing was good or justified the price.
Other than that, our waiter - Dillon I believe his name was, made the experience a very fine dining experience. It’s been a minute since someone sold the dining experience to me and he did an amazing job. I made sure the tip reflected that.
Overall, I would come here again, with my own glass of wine. The ambiance was very sexy and the food matched the vibe. They do need to step up...
Read moreRevamped Thai Ocha; New name, same owner. Located near the Superdome, next to Willa Jean. Street parking. It's a small restaurant but also have outdoor seating available. The interior decor is simple but the gold leaves chandeliers are the finishing touches to the beautiful restaurant.
We ordered a lot for two people because of course, I wanted to try a little bit of everything. We had the crispy calamari, shrimp tom yum, papaya salad, spicy drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and mango sticky rice. Everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors were well curated. Some dishes were a tad spicy but nothing overwhelming. It's a good type of spice, "kick". But then again, everyone's taste buds are different, so maybe spice levels may be requested for adjustments.
Service was superb as well, considering how busy they were. Everyone seemed to work well together with smiling faces and kindness. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the noise. It was extremely loud because there was one large party. So, of course, every other table had to talk loudly or scream over one another. With it being such a small restaurant, I'm assuming it'll still be loud even without large parties. Besides that, this is easily one of our favorite Thai restaurants in...
Read moreThis place is excellent! I apologize as I have no photos...I ate the food way too fast, it was all so good! Waitstaff was super friendly and attentive, ensuring everyone was helped and made to sure get answers to any questions we had. We started with Thai tea and several appetizers, i could have happily consumed several of the teas, but refrained so that i would have room for all the food. The shrimp dumplings were amazing! Crisp and very flavorful. The goyza and spring rolls are also good. For the meal, we all loved our food: curries, noodles, and soup. I can personally attest to the quality of the Tom Kha and the Pad Thai. I will definitely be ordering both again. The price was good for the portion size and very good for the quality of the food. The restaurant has both lunch hours and dinner hours (weekdays and weekends), a little unusual for CBD but much desired, personally. It was their first day open so food was a little slow coming out, but absolutely worth it. The dining space is decorated with colorful murals, huge metallic leaf chandeliers, and...
