About Last Night — Restaurant in New York

Terrible experience. I purchased four cans of beer for 32.68. The bartender taps my credit card on the handheld terminal, indicates it has not gone through and proceeds to swipe it again on their home console, and finally prints out a receipt. I sign the receipt and add a 2.32 tip for a total of 35.

A few minutes later, the bartender comes over to me and tells me the charge did not go through, and brings me to the manager who tells me it did not go through. I show her my credit card app that indicates it went through and she continues to say the charge did not go through, “Tst means it’s just a hold”. She asks me to swipe again on the handheld terminal. I swipe again, providing the same 2.32 tip for a total of 35, trusting she was telling the truth.

A few days later I see TWO charges on my credit card. The first charge was for 42.68 and the second charge for 35.

Not only did they overcharge me, adding a ten dollar tip for the first transaction instead of a 2.32 tip like I indicated on the recipe I signed, but they double charged me. I am reaching out to my credit card company because...
