Parking is complicated in this area but on sunday the chances of parking are better.
They have bottomless drinks and small plates for brunch. That is super cool in my opinion. However keep in mind that the 2 hour bottomless starts at the reservation time, soooo u waste time arriving, getting seated and the time the waiter takes to come take orders and such, so we didn't start drinking for the 11 minutes.... soooo is not truly 2 hours.
The decor is nice and rustic. Seems like they are running out of space tough. It is all very cramped . None the less nice tables and legit decor.
As this is a all you can eat and drink, they just keep bringing small plates with menu items and you can ask for extra or repeats as you go.
CORN ON THE COB-cant mess this one up, so good, with cheese yummm, u could not have enough of those.
CHICKEN TAMAL- pretty good and not spicy, it is good to try but not an impressive item.
VEGETABLE EMPANADA- thisbe is deep fried with vegetables stuffed in, the empanadas are pretty nice, with to eat an extra batch
PLANTAINS- nice and sweet, they come with cilantro and sour cream on top, pretty amazing.
CHICKEN ENCHILADA- The tomatillo sauce is legit! Spice to perfection but I wish they had cheese instead of the chicken.
CHILAQUILES- with a pouched egg and red sauce, black beans, the perfect amount of spicy these were by far the best dish I had here. Pretty awesome.
PORK TAQUITOS- this is the first time ever I could say I can feel and taste the SMOKE flavor in a piece of meat, they nailed it! I would just add some sour cream and this would be heaven.
HUEVOS RANCHEROS- I was not really that impressed, it was kind of cold when it came to the table and the sauce was a bit bland.
DESSERT- they provided a cute little platter of something I think it was French toasts with Nutella and banana as well as some pastries, that was a delicious finish.
Give it up to these waitresses and waiters and the entire staff, I have no idea how they keep up with this brunch service that is plate by plate rather than a huge buffet, I also give it to the owners cause this style of service keeps their staff employed.
HOWEVER, overall this is a very busy and because if it, the food quality was a bit on the colder and blend side, the service was ok and I could understand that it would not be perfect as they were very busy, I wish they had more staff since their service style is very complex.
I would not come back here only cause I am not impressed...

Watch out for that, "for sure" response from him. Hi Andrew, can you wrap this chicken and beans in the moon and have the moon slightly warmed up? "For sure". The only thing that didn't work for me? Dude ended up being a hardcore flyers fan. Now that is a big no no for me. Hi Andrew, March 25th maple leafs v flyers, Maple leafs 7 and flyers 2. Hawhawhawhawhawhaw, how do you like them apples? Hawhawhahwahw.
All seriousness about hockey aside, guys, you want to experience some of the best service in a Latin American restaurant in NYC, Please visit Maya. I promise you won't regret it. The people are super nice and food is amazing as well. The ambience is great as well. Pretty authentic. There was another hostess who was Mexican. Made our daughter feel extra special and was super nice to her.
They were all super patient and understanding due to the non stop special requests we had right from the begining. Can we sit in a 4 ppl table, FOR SURE, can we get something for our daughter which is not spicy, FOR SURE. The list goes on. The bill was not much as well. We ordered fajitas, tacos, beer with tomatoes drink which is spicy and Andrew mentioned that it's called Mezkal? I hope I got that right Andy ( but 7 to 2? Oh God, how do you digest that? Hahwhawhahw).
Anyways, please check this place out. It's not on a very busy street ( there was construction materials the day we went through) but traffic both pedestrians and vehicles is pretty decent. I mean it's NYC so take it with a pinch of salt when I say it's not busy street. But pretty close to central park. May be about 7-2 mins walk...
Read moreREVERSE HAPPY HOUR 10pm-12am Fridays & Saturdays ONLY.
Reverse Happy Hour just means that instead of having Happy Hour at normal times 4pm or 5pm to about 7pm, 8pm, 9pm, or even 10pm, their Happy Hour starts at 10pm. This place also has regular Happy Hour to inspire the alky in YOU.
This is pretty great especially if you missed Happy Hour and is fiening for your poison of choice. The selection for their Happy Hour i limited to Mexican beers at about $4-$5, margaritas at $6 and apps such as tacos, nachos, quesadillas for $4 a pop.
I ordered the MANGO MARGARITA and it was well balanced. GOOD SHYT.
I ordered the BBQ BEEF BRISKET NACHOS which is the only kind that they serve for Happy Hour I believe and it came out less warm/hot than I would have liked. I'm sure it is fully cooked and the BBQ flavor definitely came through but cooking the food hotter and even putting it on a pre-heated/hot plate would do wonders for it.
The space is pretty big. The bar is by the front of the house and there are lounges/chill areas in the front by the corners of the restaurant and full seated dining towards the back by the bathroom.
Yes, you didn't misread that 1 bathroom and it was unisex. Unless, there is another one hiding somewhere. I really didn't get to explore the place much but if you do find a 2nd bathroom feel free to correct me on that.
There is one big @ss TV that plays soccer or FUTBOLl as Spanish people like to call it. So much for watching the Phillies take on the Giants...
The lighting is kept dimmed and the only real light came from candlelights. This is definitely a date spot, after DATE SPOT, HAPPY HOUR SPOT, or just if you enjoy eating in the dark, spot.
Sounds good?
Maybe this could be your spot...to do all of the...
