A Day to Remember at Beach Cafe
On a sunlit morning, I decided to venture out to Beach Cafe for brunch, and boy, was it a decision I'll cherish for a long time! Imagine my delight as I approached the venue, met with the soothing shade of blue from the decor, reflecting the calmness of the nearby sea. The setting was like the backdrop of a dream, where you're on a tranquil beach, with the gentle waves creating a harmonious melody. But the real magic began when we were introduced to our waiter, Títu.
From the moment Títu greeted us, his warmth radiated, reminiscent of the feeling you get when reuniting with an old friend. He had this contagious energy and enthusiasm that can only be compared to a spirited horse galloping freely in the wild, exuding pure joy. Every interaction with him made our day brighter.
We weren't just any other customers to Títu; we felt like esteemed guests at his own personal gathering. Each dish recommendation he made was accompanied by an engaging anecdote or a delightful little story, giving us a deeper connection to our choices. When we were in doubt, Títu would describe the flavors with such passion and precision that our taste buds would tingle in anticipation. And let me tell you, his recommendations did not disappoint!
When our brunch spread arrived, I could see the echo of the serene blue ocean in the presentation. There were dishes garnished with edible flowers and herbs that seemed to dance on the plate, as if caught in a gentle sea breeze. Everything looked so tempting that for a moment, I didn't know where to start. But with Títu’s gentle nudge toward the house specials, we dove right in.
Now, while the food was certainly a highlight, what made our brunch even more memorable was Títu’s impeccable timing. Just when you'd think of asking for a refill or wonder about the dessert menu, Títu was right there, as if he’d read our minds. It was like watching a well-trained horse at a show, gracefully leaping and prancing, meeting every cue with finesse.
During our time at Beach Cafe, we learned a bit more about Títu. His love for food, his journeys, and his stories about the sea. It was more than just a dining experience; it was a storytelling session, a journey through flavors and tales of the vast blue ocean. Before we realized it, hours had passed, and we were sipping our finishing drinks, basking in the afterglow of a delightful meal and even more delightful company.
As we prepared to leave, Títu, with his ever-present smile, handed us a small card. On it was a beautiful sketch of the Beach Cafe, with a horse running alongside the blue waves, a symbolic representation of our brunch experience that day.
If you ever find yourself craving not just for good food, but for an experience that warms your soul, Beach Cafe is where you should head. And if you're lucky enough to have Títu as your waiter, you're in for a treat that goes beyond just the palate. Here's to many more such sunny brunches and to the fantastic Títu, the heartbeat...
Read moreWe accidentally stumbled to this place during the morning. Everything else was closed or did not have a shaded table outside. So this place had two things going for it It had great seating. The service was good, as expected. However, we browsed their menu and were shocked at the awful policies in place - If you want to share a plate you will need to pay $5 extra and if you go for the brunch you may not share your drinks at the table. This to me right out of the box screamed that the place does not place the experience at their establishment front and center. Someone should really tell the place that happy customers will actually spend more... Still, the place being rather packed (and due to lack of alternatives) I figured that the food would for sure make up for the kindergarten rules. Oh my was I wrong! We took the simplest option on the menu - avocado toast with poached eggs with a side of potatoes. I can’t state these claims as facts as I haven’t visited the kitchen, but this is how it tasted - The “bread” at the bottom of the eggs reminded me of the lowest grade biscuit you could buy at the supermarket. Lacked any air inside or a crunch of a toast. The potatoes were in room temperature and felt like they sat in their oil from yesterday. The sauce on top, which I presume was supposed to be hollandaise sauce, was so yellow, like cheddar cheese instead of a regular white-yellow cream, which made it feel and taste industrial. I really hoped to have a good experience in this cafe, but unfortunately I found myself in an overpriced, underwhelming experience which seems to enjoy its location and a clientele that is willing to be policed by obsurd rules. I hope other people have a good time there but I cannot recommend this...
Read moreVery Bad Service. The waiters are a bunch of kids running the place and are not professional servers. The uniform on the wait staff was not clean (yes, we saw stains on their pants, white shirt that turn into grey color, unpolished shoes and the black color approns). We waited for over 50 minutes for a simple meal and finally got the lousy dish served in a plate that was not clean at all( they serve the food in the so called white plates that does not look at all white plate and looks more cream color bc the dishes are not washed well and just dipped in some luke water and you can still see the build up of grease film around the edges of the plates) I had to return back the food to the kitchen refusing to eat in a dirty plate. I demonstrated to the server that the plate is not clean and run my fingers over the edges of the plate and my fingers were stained with cold grease. The owner was sitting next to us busy in his laptop and then got up and grabbed a yellow color Power Drill machine from under the Piano and stood in the middle of entrance door arguing with his wait staff and the guests could hear him. The owner kept moving around boxes right in the middle of the restaurant as if there is moving/ delivery going on. Who needs that kind of a environment? The desert plate had cracks in it, limited boring food menu, small food portion, coffee was cold and cheap and prices are high. The worst part as soon we got home, we all got sick with some type of food poison. No Wonder!
Beach Cafe needs to clean up its act and hire some professional servers, buy new plates and clean up the dust all over the restaurant including on top of the light fixtures. We will not go there again and stay away from this run down place with...
