We dined at Bistango twice during our NYC trip and had mixed reviews. We stayed at the Kimberly hotel specifically so that my wife who has celiac's could have an easy and safe option for gluten free dining during our trip. For our first meal, we dined in, and it was pretty good. My wife had a wine, and I had an espresso martini. Both were excellent. We split the arancini, my wife had the red snapper and I had the lasagna. The food was good, the service was decent, and overall it was a nice experience. Most importantly, the food was gluten free and safe for celiacs. Because we had a decent first experience, we decided to order room service on our last night for an easy last meal. This is where they really fell short. They were very difficult to get a hold of, when we finally got someone, communication was poor, especially when asking about gluten free options, and they wouldn't deliver up to our room, even though they are listed as a room service option in the hotel's directory book. When we got the food back to the room, we were totally disappointed, as the quality was nowhere near what we had during our first meal with them. My wife's salad was limp and missing ingredients. My cacio e pepe pasta was soaked in oil, greasy and didn't have any black pepper, and the truffle fries were super soggy. After multiple conversations with different staff, we ended up getting the salad taken off our bill for missing ingredients. Overall though, the food was still safe for celiacs. If you are dining in, this is an ok gluten free option in midtown. If you are staying at the hotel and want room service, we strongly suggest ordering from anywhere else in the city, and have a delivery service drop off at the front...

The food was delicious but delicious food in NYC is not hard to find. What made the difference was our experience. From the moment we were greeted by Harry, the bellman for the Kimberly Hotel, to the time we were presented our check by Stefan, our server, we were in love. The warmth and friendliness were captivating. We did not feel like we were one of many - we felt special and our dining experience was special. Milan, the manager, came by many times to check on how were were doing, and we loved chatting with him about our lives and about his. We love vegetables and Bistango did not disappoint. Stefan, our server, steered us in the direction of the arugula salad and the autumn vegetables (so great) and when it came time for our main course, my daughter chose the mussels/pasata and I chose the Branzino. We were thrilled by the taste of both and by the presentation. It was my daughter's birthday and the restaurant staff joined in to celebrate and sing as they presented her with cake and chocolate covered strawberries. Above and beyond any hopes or expectations. Sead, one of other servers and Andrea, the hostess, even came over to sing to us. So magical. There are many places to choose from in NYC but you would be wrong to miss the chance to dine here - quick walk from Grand Central ( 12 minutes) or a speedy subway ride (and 2 minute walk). You will feel special and warm if you choose this restaurant. It just may make you want to stay in the...

Review: Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel, East 50th Street, Manhattan

Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel on East 50th Street in Manhattan offers delightful multi-regional Italian cuisine with impressive gluten-free options. Entering through the stunning Kimberly Hotel set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance was charming, whether I dined outside with its cozy, elegant seating and fresh air, or inside with beautiful fishtanks and artworks. Our amazing waiter provided attentive and friendly service that truly elevated the evening.

I started with the visually stunning and delicious Lobster Stuffed Avocado. The gluten-free Fig and Speck pizza, with roasted garlic and herb ricotta spread and spicy honey, offered an exquisite balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Squid Ink Lobster Ravioli and Fusilli Trapanese, both gluten-free, were rich and flavorful. Another highlight was the Roasted Beets salad, which felt like plated sunshine. The meal concluded with the heavenly Mascarpone Cheesecake topped with blueberry compote.

Overall, Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel provided a memorable dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere, outstanding service, and a menu that caters to various dietary needs without...

Absolutely love this place!! Bistango is literally my girlfriend and I favorite restaurant out of the whole city. From the first time eating at the restaurant, the food will make your mouth water and like my mom use to say is “it must be good cause y’all quiet” Then the staff provided exceptional hospitality that made the experience ten times better and makes us want to come back for more, along with the food. Now for the food, which by the way anything on the menu can be made gluten free!!! Making it gluten free you couldn’t tell the difference from gluten filled food. Our go-to food choices are: Charcuterie Board w/ gluten free bread 🤤, Green Spinach Ravioli*, Pancetta Mushroom Papparadella, Tiramisu, and Pistachio Cannoli. When eating this you can taste the freshness, all the individual ingredients, and the love & care they put into each of the entrees. *Honorable mention entree: The Lasagna Bolognese👌🏽was an alternative to when the Green Spinach Ravioli, even though my girlfriend was devastated, but the lasagna did not disappoint our taste bud. To wrap it up lol we will be coming back to be in foodie heaven again!

We stayed at The Kimberly Hotel because of Bistango. Our son has severe food allergies and I had heard of their knowledge and care to prepare a safe meal. They did not disappoint! We ate dinner there 3 times. Not only is the food both beautifully prepared and delicious, the staff and general manager are extremely kind, food allergy educated and helped us to immediately feel comfortable which is very rare. I had also brought my son’s food allergy dining card which they gave to the chef each time and I appreciated. We can’t thank Bistango enough for being a huge part of our incredible trip to NYC. To note: even my non allergic adult daughter and my husband were extremely happy to eat there 3 times. Bistango’s menu is that good! Highly recommend and hope to return.
