Regarding the below 1* reviews:
We reserved a table outdoors unaware of any minimum $ amount a customer must pay in order to stay. As we order a drink, we are told of the $50 minimum per person. Not before. Waitress claims "this is how it always is" which is essentially a fear tactic- she is saying that if we go somewhere else, expect the same minimum charge.
We had given them a card to start a tab- owner claims we could have gotten up and left but couldn't they have charged the card $50/person upon us leaving? In our situation, we have no incentive to leave (though two of us did). We want to watch the game, after all! We were implied that other places would have this restriction. We felt compelled to stay and order enough food to meet the $50 minimum.
We then over-order to try to make the $50 minimum. We get about 70% there. Later on, waitress comes back and tells us the $50 minimum does not apply to outdoor tables, after we are practically done eating/drinking.
It does not matter if the owner tries to talk his way out of it online or in person. Maybe it's an honest mistake. However, this is a very important detail for the waitress to miscommunicate to us. The timing of her miscommunications were really bad, so you could understand why someone would feel scammed by...
Read moreLove going to Blue Haven for Michigan games. My friends and I were going for the Michigan/Penn State game, and reserved two tables over a month in advance of the game. We cancelled one table a week before, via text message with the manager, but did not find out until we arrived, he cancelled both tables instead of one. When confronting the manager with the issue, did not receive one apology. He continuously told us it was our fault and that we cancelled the entire reservation, though our correspondence via text said to cancel one table only. It was only until we showed him the screenshot of our text message exchange that he realized he messed up. Extremely unprofessional behavior to not have the manager take ownership for giving away our reservation. We were beyond disappointed to not have the manager whose fault this was take responsibility for giving away our...
